I think all of Kembas numbers will go up this year. People forget he was basically the only one on every teams scouting report, the coaches probably told the team just stop Kemba and we will win thats why he was always getting double teamed least year. But now we have Big Al who will not only be on the top of the scouting report he will demand a double team. This is when people will see what Kemba is capable of. for someone whos 5'11 to score almost 18 points a game while being the main focus of EVERY teams defense is very impressive.

I hope you're right and I think you mostly are, but Kemba's scoring numbers might stay even or go down ever-so-slightly, because he may not even be the first option. His efficiency wills skyrocket this year, but with big men to pass to, he may not have to force so many desperation shots.

ESPN Insider has a statistical analysis of PGs predicting their WARP (Wins Above Replacement Player) for 2013-14. Kemba ranked #11 out of all PGs - not bad and ahead of John Wall, Ricky Rubio and Tony Parker.

I agree but you got to remember we still dont have that many guys that can score. Im guessing we average around 100 a game. I think Kemba can get around 20ppg this year.

His run in 2011 with Uconn was ridiculous. he went from a good player to the best in the league in his Junior year lets hope he can do the same thing in the NBA.

The best way for me to describe Kemba's rapid progression from entry level beyond during his high school & college years to the pros is that he's a shy guy, and it usually takes him a little while to get comfortable around others, but when he does he quickly becomes the life of the party. I've seen him do it at Rice High, UConn, & now with the Charlotte Bobcats. If his 3rd year is any representation of how he will progress at each level, then Kemba will be a surefire all-star this upcoming season all the while leading the Bobcats to an unexpected playoff birth

I don't think Kemba is a scoring point guard, he was just our best scoring option when he was on the court so of course he took a lot of shots.

I honestly think he'll get to 8 assists a game this year. Or at least be top 5 in assists. I know its a big jump, but so its not as big as the jump from Mullens/Biyombo/Haywood to Zeller/Jefferson/Biyombo.

I like the positivity but I would be quite surprised if Kemba is top 5 in assists next season.

Jrue Holiday went from 4.5 assist per game in 2011-12 into a top 5 assist guy in 2012-13, so it's possible for Kemba to go from 5.7 assist into the same

Not to take anything away from Holiday's break-out year, but the main difference was that Iguodala was traded. Iggy is like Kobe in the sense that PGs never get big assist totals next to him.

I agree with your assessment, but in the same vein I want to say that I believe the main difference in Kemba's breakthrough in '13-14 will be that he'll have Al Jefferson to pass to instead of Bismack Biyombo. That alone should amount to at least 2 more assist per game from Kemba's last year averages

Big Al will boost his assits to at least 7 a game it just doesnt help that MKG is a slasher not a shooter or he would get a lot more assists.

I don't know about top five in the league, but Kemba should get a lot more assists from drive and kicks to Zeller this year.

Top 10 in assists seems fair. Paul, Rondo, Holiday,Westbrook, Lebron, Parker, Wall, D-Will, and Rubio seem like they all have a fair chance of averaging more assists.

lots of guys could also have better assist years and flirt with 7-8 apg like: nash, calderon, lillard, irving, teague, lawson, vasquez, wall, curry and conley. thats another 10 guys that could easily finish ahead of kemba, even if kemba raises his apg to somewhere around 7.

true. I'd be more interested in A/T ratio or pure point ratio of guys with more than 5 APG. Now that he has guys to pass to that should improve

Bobcats had the worst shooting % thats the main reason Kembas assists are down but most of it is because MKG is a slasher and doesnt have a jump shot yet, that would be like if all Westbrooks assists to KD just went away. Guys like Irving and Lillard (most overrated players in the league) have no excuse for not having more assists they both have shooters and guys who can score.
