it was discussed to death on the trade board. i dont think they ever found a consensus reason not too.
maybe each team over valuing their own player.

Team Sachmo would like it to happen for fantasy reasons. I locked in Asik for 4 years at $1, just need a trade and that will be a bargain

I didn't realize Diaw was playing so well for the Spurs. What an a-hole.

Literally too obvious to happen- just like Kris Humphries for Ben Gordon was last year.

Hey!

Diaw would have played well for us if we hadn't have blown up the roster and surrounded him with scrubs and kids. You guys wanted him to be "the man" but his game is setting up "the man" as a facilitator. You guys would hate McBob too if we started the rebuild right now.

McBob is Diaw-lite

we should take a few seconds to truly appreciated just how bad that 2011 team was.

16 players made an appearance for that team. 10 of the 16 are already out of the league, only two seasons later. of the 6 players left in the league, only 2 are starters, kemba and henderson and only 2 others play decent minutes, biyombo and diaw. the other 2 who are still in the league are probably the worst players on their respective teams, mullens and augustin.

Wow. That is insane. DJ is also losing his spot to Dwight Buycks on the Raptors' bench. Even he's playing his way out of the league.

Corey Maggette, DJ White, Derrick Brown, Matt Carroll, Gana Diop, Eddy Najera, Tyrus Thomas, Jamario Moon, Cory Higgins, and Reggie Williams are the remaining ten and only Reggie Williams is even garnering interest from NBA teams (Chicago might look into him, Houston signed him but waived him). Maggette and Najera are retired and the rest suck too much to make a comeback, though I see Thomas getting some ten-day contracts from desperate injury-riddled teams mid-season.

McBob played 20-something games around a bunch of scrubs. The difference is McBob actually tries when he's on the court when his team is down. When Diaw's team is down, he becomes such a nonfactor on the court you may as well play 4 on 5 while Doris eats half a Croquembouche on the bench.

speaking of derrick brown... any idea where he is playing these days and how he is doing? surprised he hasnt made it back to the league. he was definitely good enough to be a 10th-12th man.

He's been in Russia ever since he got cut from SA.

I'm actually really surprised some team hasn't picked him up, but as we've seen, nobody on that 2011-12 team has any kind of value to the rest of the league.

Hes playing in Russia, and its a travesty that hes not on an NBA team to be honest.

Dj Augustin still amazes me. I was sure for a while he would at least be an ok starting point guard.

He seemed an efficient ball handler/shooter, I can't believe how far he has fallen.

When I watch teams like Golden State and LAC play, I feel like I've robbed myself by watching the Bobcats so much.

Get Gordon Hayward on this squad and things would change tremendously.

Eric Gordon could be had for fewer assets, plus when he's healthy, he's a better player. Would I mind Hayward on this team? Absolutely not, but you can do far better than him. EG, Batum, and Jeff Green come to mind right away.

Correction: McBob was playing for a contract. He got traded from chitty Orlando for chitty Hakim Warrick, remember?

Hayward is currently a better play than all three that you mentioned.

that trade gets more impressive in hindsight. about as much of an upgrade you can make with players of that calibre in a 1-for-1 deal, with no obvious salary cap motivations on either side.

way different situations. Diaw had a reputation around the league as a good player and knew that he could get out and play for a real team, if he whined a bit. While McBob's contract was up and he had just been declared not worthy of playing time by a bad Orlando team. He saw the opportunity he had in getting to start and ran with it.

Seriously, he could have been out of the league by now. Traded for the washed-up version of a washed-up Hakim Warrick and deemed not playable by a 20-win Magic team aren't exactly the two facts that the agents of FAs can successfully use over the summer to get their client a new deal.
