With the news that broke last night, including the news Westbrook may be available, should the Hornets contact OKC about Westbrook or Adams?

I would def trade for him personally, but only if we could flip Rozier.

Can we immediately trade Rozier after acquiring him through S&T? Someone here posted that we can only trade him around December.

I think Jan 15th is the earliest we can trade him.

I suspect that trading Terry is pretty unlikely unless things implode in a big way.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Mitch mentioned having the Howard TPE "for two more days." Based on the Howard trade being on July 6, 2018; it should've expired now. I'm legitimately concerned he's confused the amount ($7.8M) with the expiration date.

It's one of the negatives of having a player owner. This team doesn't have any long term planning. Just going one season to the next.

I'm certainly no fan of bonnell, few of us are, but hats off to him for calling a spade a spade in his recent articles taking the FO to task for its bad decisions.

It will be depressing and exasperating if all four of Batum, Marvin, MKG, and Biz are on the team at the start of the season. Kemba is gone, we need to shed those guys and start fresh ASAP.

Cody not exempt. He’s trash and overpaid too not to mention injury prone just like the aforementioned.

Cody Zeller isn't trash, the only thing that prevents him being worth what he's paid is his inability to stay healthy.

Cody is not worth his contract and probably was only worth maybe 8 to 10 million when he signed. He was overpaid just like the other four guys. Cho was handing out money like he had a endless supply in those days.

I disagree, when Cody and Kemba were both playing the Hornets were an above .500 playoff team. He's been the 2nd most impactful player on the team since Batum got paid.

I’ll agree to disagree but no team should be happy starting a C that averages 10 points and 6 rebounds with only 11 double-doubles total over the past 3 seasons. That’s before mentioning that he’s making $14M a year which was more than Kemba was making the past 5 years. And that’s before mentioning that he can’t stay healthy.

Here's a quick look at our cap situation (assuming the Howard TPE expires tomorrow, and not yesterday like it seemed). Rozier is a high estimate, but even so we still have room under the tax for the full MLE. We're also hard-capped at the apron, but that won't come into play as we know we're not touching the tax line.

Worth noting we've used parts of the MLE on Bacon and Graham in recent years in order to give them a third year (otherwise 2nd rounders signed by teams over the cap are usually limited to the minimum, which has a max duration of two years).Image

If Bacon starts and continues his good percentages next season he might be up for a payday. I think JB should give him the nod because he will be motivated. I want to see how good he can be for a longer stretch.

There’s a legitimate chance that Bacon is our best player for the next few seasons.

I mean, someone is going to have expansion team type stats this year. It’ll be between Bridges, Bacon and Monk in my opinion.

Trading for Westbrook is the only thing that will save MJ from the Kemba mess.

Post#379 » by HornetsFan29 » Mon Jul 8, 2019 2:04 pm

its the only way to get the fans to the games this season and get the heat off MJ so I see MJ getting Mitch to do the trade and go out and get westbrook to save his ass and sell tickets to the games this season other wise its going to be a ghost town this season.

You could have posted this in the other thread but I'll bite. How do you figure the ultimate empty stats guy is going to do anything more than a 1st round exit in the playoffs, 2nd if we're lucky?

You all kill me we talk about MJ and unable to embrace a rebuild but anytime a decent players name gets thrown around we start talking about trading 1st round picks (what it would take to get Russ)

The team should have no other goal than a championship and he does not get us there, he's been surrounded by more talent then we could ever have during his window and hasn't do it. Major pass
