Fun mental exercise - imagine Ball playing for Clifford.

I have been going through some tough times lately and really needed some good news. Welcome to Charlotte, LaMelo!

You mean imagine him on the bench while Damien Wilkins gets his minutes.

He would be sitting behind Ramon Sessions or Michael Carter-Williams

Well in the scenario where he's actually playing we're up by at least 30pts deep in the 4th quarter, so not too bad.

I mean, my favorite player archetype is probably tall pass first point guards and he does have two elite skills and good positional size to build on, but i still feel uneasy about this pick for a number of reasons. Hope it works out because he'll be hella entertaining if he works out and if Monk also pans out then this team will be crazy entertaining even if they suck.

I'll say this, Ball does seem like a great fit with Graham.

I'm not a believer in Ball but I just hope to be proven wrong. He has a skills but also major flaws, I think it's going to put the organization's recent improvement in player development to the test.

Wouldn’t see the floor until 2023! I’m glad JB is here now.

That's a pretty exciting thought.

“LaMelo Ball, how DO you DO!??!” Would accompany it

and Monk. One of the things keeping me somewhat excited for this pick even though I'm skeptical is the fit (as well as potential). This team will be a highlight real goldmine if they can get LaMelo and Monk firing on all cylinders (Miles too tbh). PJ/Graham are both pretty safe bets to be good players and should open up the floor for everyone else.

Bridges should get so many lobs that he could get an invite back to the dunk contest. Maybe he'll even make a dunk this time too.

Hang on a second....

@Diop: We need an official ruling.

With LaMelo spending a season in Australia, can we claim him as an honorary Aussie? If so, he might have just ingratiated himself with me.

nah I can't do it. He sort of stayed in his own bubble at Illawara and left the team early. All understandable, but I can't adopt him.

I'm in the middle with this pick. I would have preferred Wiseman but I'm happy to give him a shot. The front office just picked the left over consensus top 3 pick.

I said this in the draft day thread, but I need a LaMelo city jersey.
