Re: Box Office: The James Bouknight Thread
I can excuse away a lot of ****, but drunk driving is just unacceptably stupid in the Uber era.
I would assume the team also has some sort of driver service as well (or they should).
just really unfortunate decision making when he's staring at a golden opportunity for big minutes if he plays well.
it really does pour when it rains in Charlotte

Re: Box Office: The James Bouknight Thread
I’m just ready for this avalanche of **** to stop. This team showed so much promise until the very end of last season. They couldn’t have made (org and players) worse choices since April. It’s time for a culture overhaul and reset. Let’s ship off Terry/Hayward/Oubre/Plumlee and plan for next season now. Use this season to develop the young players who put basketball first and stupidity last and pray we are rewarded with Scoot or Wemby.

At this rate there won't be any young players left.
Have to reschedule games around AA meetings and community service

Re: Box Office: The James Bouknight Thread
This guy is unbelievable.
I'm not going to take this opportunity to **** on Bouk even more. No need to rehash how I feel about him.
I really don't know if it's just a series on unfortunate coincidences with thus franchise, or if there really is some sort of systematic rot that's contributing, or if this is just the reality of the league as a whole and every team is dealing with there own bull.

Re: Box Office: The James Bouknight Thread
This might be harsh to say, but this news doesn't really change my opinion of his future with our franchise, only that it reduces his already incredibly low trade value. I didn't see a path for him to become a relevant player on the franchise. I don't believe in him as a player or as a person. I was already hoping that the franchise would look to move him sooner than later. Sometimes it's incredibly unfair to judge a player after only one season, and sometimes that's all you need. This is my stance until proven otherwise.

I would describe this news as some of the least-surprising things I will see all day.

I assume it's something stupid like a DUI.
Either way, what an idiot.

Next week we'll find out Gordo has a crystal meth cookshop in a trailer behind his house, Plumlee has a hardcore porn onlyfans site, and Melo has tattooed his entire face

I wouldn't be surprised by the third thing.

That's all on Bouk. Just unbelievable.
I think when you have this many consecutive incidents with young players it shows that the organization isn’t doing enough. It’s no longer a one off. It’s multiple incidents so yes. I think they don’t have enough veterans on the team to keep these guys in check and I don’t think they’re doing enough to truly develop them on and off the court. I’m ready for an organization wide overhaul.
And just to be clear, the responsibility is still 100% on Bouknight who is supposed to be an adult and a professional but he’s 21 and obviously very immature.
I fundamentally disagree that its the organization's responsibility to keep guys from getting DUIs, drug charges, and domestic violence charges, or that getting more vets would in any way impact that.

Re: Box Office: The James Bouknight Thread
Evidently Bouknight got arrested in college too.
And according to this, he got a DUI.
I don't think this is a veteran thing. Or maybe even a FO thing. We just have a team full of idiots.

I generally agree with this. I feel like a Marvin Williams type could have a positive influence, but it also requires someone being willing to be influenced. I don't see that with Bouk and never have. Hornets replaced Malik Monk with someone boasting half the skill and, incredibly, half the maturity. Props.

Judging by his latest haircut first thing wouldn't surprise me either

Melo is totally the type to get a teardrop tattoo or his eyebrows tattooed.

Maybe he doesn't have eyebrows anymore cuz they were burned off in a "cooking" accident?
