I have to say (again) I am pleasantly shocked at the length and amount of Reggie's contract! I was really expecting him to get close to the MLE with the way people have been talking him up and the number of teams that were said to be interested in him.

Just did a quick youtube of Williams... He's a two time NCAA scoring champ?! Only player to do it back to back. Impressive.

You've got to think a team like LAC wouldve loved to have added this guy, especially now that theyve gutted their roster for paul and lack a SG.
I have my doubts defensively about a 6'5 205 guy playing SF though. It seems like he's more of a SG.

That's the best part. We got an interesting piece without going nuts.

He looks pretty nuggety with super long arms though so maybe holding down the SF spot might not be too much of a stretch for him?
If he can he will compliment Hendo pretty well for stretches.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
I have a feeling our 2 spot is going to be more fluid than anything. Hendo will start at the 2, but will get minutes at the 3, opening up the 2 for Reggie and Carroll (whoever is hitting the shot that night). I also suspect you will see the all-under-6-ft-tall backcourt of DJ and Kemba some.
I suspect given our roster, you will see Hendo at the 3 a bunch actually. This is I think who will actually get minutes at these positions:
PG: DJ/Kemba
SG: Hendo/Reggie/Carroll/Kemba
SF: Maggette/Hendo
PF: TT/Diaw
C: Diaw/Bismack/Ely/Diop (because each of them only gets 6 fouls)
Wow... the cats are not going to win very much. It's alright, when we are 9-32 at the trade deadline, we can trade Reggie to a contender for an expiring and draft pick... maybe even have them take Diop.

I've been a Reggie Williams fan for a while, this is a solid, no risk move by our cats.

Warriors fan here. Don't listen to this chump. Reggie is a great scorer in a variety of ways. This is a steal.

(current) Reggie >> (current) Carroll
I think you will like Reggie, given his price point and your team needs. He can't defend at all but he has a very well rounded offensive game. Can pass, shoot, drive, finish contested shots. Team oriented.

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
WOW HOT DANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After looking at that you tube Video of RW, I'm Excited. Our second team may be better than first.
Kemba- FAST/Real Fast at dishing and scoring
Reggie--Lighting it up from both outside and driving to the rim
UPS---Fastand going to the rim/DEFENSE
White---Rebounding both ends
BB--Swating/Rebounding/Banging.....DEFENSE
It would be neat to bring all 5 of them together off the bench to charge the team up towards end of first quarter. If they are on leave them together on the floor for 15-20 minutesthen bring starters back with 5 minutes left in 2nd quarter. In second have sub them individually at will based on whose on and whose not with the starters.
Now if we could only trade Diaw and Carroll for Starting Veteran expiring contract Center to start.
How about DJ, Diaw, to OKC for Maynor, Aldrich, and Nazr plus a filler?

Re: Reggie Williams Signs With Bobcats
Kemba, Williams, and White should combine to add scoring off the bench. That's for sure. I would expect to see WIlliams get minutes at the 3 as well. Biggest thing is that with the addition of Williams it gives us even more flexibility to trade DJ. Now we have a capable back-up at the 2, and therefore don't have to count on DJ and Kemba together like we might had before. But don't trade assets now. Wait until the trade deadline, that is when you can get the most for your buck. By then contenders will know who they are and teams will know the injury situation. Going forward we could either keep Williams or trade him, either way, for the contract he signed, it is a good deal. Dj is a must trade, unless Kemba proves to be a complete flop early on.

Forget about defense for a second, for 5 million this is an incredible signing. He might actually be the second best scorer on our team.

That's fair enough. Hammer is more a catch and shoot guy I guess. If Reggie can create his own offense then it would be a plus.

So if we signed a big man who could score 20 a night for the first time in team history, you wouldn't be excited because "it says more about our team than X!!"

Yeah, it just takes more to get Carroll involved. With Reggie, he's much more of a threat with the ball in his hands.

If we had a big who could score 20 a night efficiently I would probably be too gob smacked to say anything at all!

Imagine how good tankers we would become if these two franchises joined forces to win an NBA title (read: tank for the number one draft pick).

Unfortunately, that's the situation we're in. And actually I'd say the 2011-12 Bobcats aren't the only ones for which this would apply. The same thing goes for the 05 and 06 Cats, so it ain't anything surprising.
