So far, so true. Portland's running a lot. GW had a vintage performance tonight. Portland fans showered him with "Gerald Wallace" chants near the end of the game. A lot like this:
I'm very glad that Rich Cho is on our side now.

Interesting.
Admittedly, I haven't followed the Blazers at all this season but I'm definitely glad to see them pick things up a bit. They certainly have the pieces to do so and hopefully they'll stick with it. Also, it's nice to see Wallace killing it again and getting some love for it.

What game are you watching...he is having a very good game tonight.
Did you watch the first half?!?!? I posted that at halftime. You must have tuned in at the start of the third quarter.

I agree. He looks better than he did last year.

I saw most of it. I think Kobe's hand is bothering him a bit but that his footspeed and movement look better than they did last year.

I know it's still very early and there's going to be a bit of an adjustment period with the abbreviated training camp/preseason, but does it seem like there are more really bad teams this season?
Detroit, Washington, NJ, Toronto, Cleveland, Utah, and if you want to throw us into the mix, could all be really, really bad this season.

I haven't seen Detroit or New Jersey play yet. As far as Washington, Toronto, Cleveland, and Utah go here are my early observations.
I don't know if it's Flip Saunders coaching or what, but the Wizards look like they're playing without any structure or system. Maybe it's just the early going and they are still trying to get the plays down. But they kind of look like a playground team with everyone doing their own thing.
Toronto actually does look like they have bought into Dwayne Casey's system, where it's about defence first, lots of passing, and in the fourth quarter they make sure the ball gets into the right scorers hands, where last year they tried all sorts of different styles and plays and players didn't look like they knew their roles. I think although they should miss the playoffs, the simple fact of concentrating on defence should squeeze out a few more wins than last season. Let's face it, they are going to play their young guys and set up for the draft in June, kind of like your Bobcats.
Cleveland looks like they lack a leader the young guys can rely on. Jamison's ball hogging performance against Toronto was embarassing. Varejao looks like his old self but kind of just goes about his job rather than lead. Tristan Thompson seems like a legit player. Even though he was outplayed by Jose Calderon, I'll defer my opinion of Irving for a while. I'm sure he's going to be much better than he's shown so far.
I don't know what the heck Utah was playing last night against the Lakers. They have lots of good talent but lacked any sort of team cohesiveness. It was unimpressive to put it mildly. But I think as the season progresses they should get their act together.
The one ingredient that these teams all lack is that star, go to guy that can put the team on his back. Until one of these teams young players emerges, or they get extremely lucky in the draft and find that highend star, I see teams that will falter without that key thing that all the really good teams have.
Just like your team, I wish them all good luck since I'm about watching teams that have been at the bottom suddenly find the missing link and rise up the ladder, and knock the long dwelling teams that feel a little entitled being at the top down a rung or two.
I guess you can say I cheer for the underdog. I did it with Memphis for a few years and now they are reaping the rewards of their patience. I truly believe it's about having the right ownership, management, and coaching in place. Find that and the rest will follow in time.

I think Detroit, Washington, and Cleveland are all going to be worse than we are. I think that NJ could also be, but they are the one team with a "star" so they may be able to pull out a few more wins. Utah has a ton of young talent. I really like what they are doing. Very similar to what we are, getting young talent trying to find that star again. Harris, Burks, Haywood, Millsap, Favors, and Kanter all are some good young pieces to build on. They will start slow but I think that they will end up being a decent team, maybe a few games under .500.
Other teams that I think we will be fighting for that 4-10 range (assuming we don't surprise a lot of people and make a run....haha) are Minny, Utah, Philly, Toronto, Maybe Milwaukee, Maybe Phoenix, maybe Houston. Bottom line, we are going to have to be GOD awful to get the most ping pong balls. I think it's far more likely we fall in that 5-7 range.

brandon rush has found a new home in golden state. he is having a really nice game tonight vs the knicks and has looked good in all 3 games for them. no wonder they let reggie go. there was really no room with curry, ellis, wright, klay and rush all in the mix at 1-2-and 3.

The GSW board is also raving about Brick McGuire, the Warriorcats are working well for them and adding defence.
Jax has made a good first impression as a coach, benching their "star" Monta for chucking, but also motivating and coaching him so he unleashed hell when put back on in the last quarter.
Love making everyone accountable.

I would love nothing more than for the Celtics to just SUCK, specifically that PUNK KG. What's even funnier is that the C's lost to the Hornets without Eric Gordon......
I"m sure the C"s get it turned around, but right now I think they may be wishing they were the Bobcats...hahaha

A coach like M-Jax would not fly with this board.

True.
Oh, and McGuire was always a solid player here. Better than Graham and Brown. If he had a jump shot, he would probably make 3-4m every year.

One of the most fun teams to watch in my opinion is Denver. I think they are much better with what they have then with Carmelo. But I still wonder if they have a closer at the end of the game.

Well they were pretty damn good with Carmelo. Also, Denver just played two teams playing the second game of a back to back while they were sitting at home resting. Not only that, they play in a city a mile above sea level so any game they play at home during this crazy season will be a big advantage for them. We know they can score and look good doing it, but the question as always with these types of teams is can they can play defense?

Defense? Who needs defense?

Denver would be better if they had Wilson Chandler who is under contract in China (apparently he's beasting over there with multiple 40 point games).

Even last year they were playing great after the trade. They added Faried and Hamilton, I think they can get Wilson Chandler back in March. Faried should help with D. Chandler will too. Nene is really playing the best basketball since the beginning of 2011. Lawson is coming into his own, Andre Miller is a solid defender and backup. Plua, Afflalo. They have a good team, and in my opinion, are in the top 4 in the west. But, I agree, defense will always be a big concern.
