I found out that Charter doesn't carry any games, but they MIGHT starting in Nov or Dec of 2013 when FSN has to renew their deal with them.

Per Steve Martin

I live in downtown Raleigh and don't have a television but I'm out and about all the time and have yet to find a location that is showing a Bobcats game.

somewhat good news for bobcats fans. league pass online will allow for replays of games that are blacked out in your area.

also they will allow you to switch between home/away tv feeds.

Fox and Charter are suppose to redo their deal in December according to Steve Martin. Hopefully this means that I can actually watch some games on my TV here in WNC.

carried over from game thread

ASHEVILLE – A total of 70 Charlotte Bobcats television games will be available to Charter subscribers in Western North Carolina beginning with tonight’s 8 p.m. season opener at Houston, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

The agreement with Fox Sports was confirmed by Patti Michel, Charter’s Director of Communications of the South Region.

Tonight’s game will be carried by SportSouth.

Fox Sports and Charter had been unable to reach a carriage agreement since Fox began its relationship with the Bobcats in November 2008. Charter subscribers had been blacked out of the Bobcats’ regional TV package for the previous five seasons.

BlackoutBobcat Update: Still blacked out.

Though it's partially by choice, saw no need for cable with streaming, but I was gonna consider League Pass to watch the games but apparently they're blacked out as well.

I'm in NE SC and have TWC and two SportsSouth channels; one was showing some random football game and the other was showing a boxing documentary that looks like it was made in the 1970s..................

Yeah its been that way for me for years until recently. They need to fix this mess for everyone in the Carolinas.

Game showed on Sports South Channel 35 in Asheville.
One catch was the on screen tv guide was still showing the Atlanta Hawks pregame and game info, with the Hawks game starting at 8, so since I wasn't home, in order to record the Bobcats game, I had to program my TIVO to record two Hawks pregame shows and their game, so saw the Bobcats game in 30 minute recorded chunks.

Watching the home broadcast on a TV drove home the point how frustrating it is to have to see the games via pie, always with the inferior picture and the glitches and the away announcers treating your team like s**t making them out to be the enemy. So much easier to be psyched about your team watching the Homer announcers and all the graphics that come along with the game. This 5 yr blackout has been destructive for the fan base. I hope soon every one in the Carolinas is getting the games.

The bonus was that Charter aired the pregame Bobcats Live with lovely Stephanie Ready and Dell Curry. Steve Martin interviewed Steve Clifford, who when asked about the improvement in preseason defense said, "the difference now is that you have James Harden taking over in the last 5 minutes, you didn't have that in the preseason." And lo and behold our defense could not hold when James Harden took over in the last five minutes!
