You really think McRoberts fled because of Vonleh? Like he was upset or something?
You're seriously underestimating McBob. He was a pro.

Miami apparently offered a little more and I'm sure he thought he was going to play in the NBA finals alongside Lebron. He was probably already given the job of elbowing Kawhi Leonard in the throat.

No, no, no, I don't think he was upset. He was a very smart pro. He wanted playing time. He is 27. He looked at the CHA roster after they drafted Vonleh and saw that the team just used 2 top ten picks in a row on PFs. In 3 yrs he will be 30, and stuck on the bench whether he still has game or not, because CHA was going to move on to Vonleh and Zeller. I would not have stuck around as a place holder or mentor in what would have been career obsolescence. Seriously, his career would have been done by age 30 if he'd stayed here. He'll get all the playing time he wants in MIA. I would have left, too.

Anyway, that was my roundabout way of saying, Carlos Boozer, meh, really, do we have to?

But that's not Boozer - right? Boozer isn't really an offensive post threat.

He's more a mid range jump shooting, defenceless playing, gum smacking, jaw yapping, smug looking prick big man.

It's not a transplant, it's a high end "shoe polish" for black men's receding hairlines. The problem is its temporary and looks absurd.

Good to know. I just remember seeing it for the first time while he was at the free throw line and facepalming.

mcbob left because we werent willing to give him a 4 year deal and miami was. i dont think it was at all related to vonleh. mcbob is a confident fella. in his mind, he was going to be the starter, regardless.

And he would have been the starter for at least the next 2 years regardless unless some kind of miracle happened.

the more i think about it, i'd probably rather have jeff adrien on a 3 mil deal... or give blatche a phone call.

but i certainly wont be upset if we bid for boozer as long as its on the low end.

he sucked as a starter making 15 mil (or whatever it was), but as a bench guy making less than 5 mil, he certainly has a role - as long as he is willing to accept that role.

Boozer will cost a least 5 million if not more, we got Brendan Haywood's corpse for 2 million Boozer can still start on several teams including ours

If we offer him = no Lance
If he dont offer him = maybe Lance

I dont think we do, we just dumped 7 million into Marvin Williams

For a second I thought you meant Boozer. I could see Houston making a run at him.

If we do sign Boozer it means no Lance but it leaves open the possibility to upgrade Henderson with a trade using Zeller. I don't see Boozer/Zeller/Vonleh at the PF position while our needs are unmet for SG. Zeller becomes a trade chip if Boozer comes here because we can easily get by with Boozer/Vonleh and Marvin Williams. I maintain I think we're trying for Waiters.

I have no idea how much cap they have though after signing Ariza. I think it's still a good bit. If Morey wants him, then you know he'll be aggressive.

So, McRoberts leaves Charlotte because we drafted Vonleh\Zeller to go to Miami where in the base case scenario he backs up Chris Bosh, and Lebron at the 4.

I would be shocked if we signed him. Everyone knew Chicago was going to amnesty him. Cho would have just waited and signed him instead of signing Marvin Williams if he really wanted him. He would be a nice piece though. Maybe we would trade Hendo for another backup big or PG.

I don't know how he would fit next to Big Al on defense but hey he will come cheap.

We really need a defense first, savvy vet, good locker room guy who can hit the mid j. Almost the anti-Boozer.

My logic: McRoberts was going to MIA to fill the starting stretch 4 Battier/Rashard lewis role, not compete with Bosh/LeBron, and we were not comfortable offering the 4th yr because we just drafted his replacement 2 yrs in a row.

Water under the bridge. I'm sorry I brought it up.
We just plugged the McRoberts production hole with Lance.
I'm okay with Boozer for $2-$3Mln.

Bulls fan here. You don't want Boozer.

He is the worst defensive player I have ever seen in the NBA, and Eddy Curry used to be my favorite player. At least Eddy was big and could put a body on someone or clog the lane. It's not just that Boozer is undersized. It's not just that he's unathletic. It's not just that he has a small wingspan. It's not just that he's slow. It's not just that he has terrible defensive awareness. It's not just that he fouls guys a lot as they score on him. It's not just that he doesn't ever rotate correctly.

Boozer doesn't try on defense. On a Thibbs team that practices, preaches, and prides itself on defense, Boozer doesn't try. There's a reason why he hasn't played in the 4th quarter of a NBA game since 2011.

He has nice rebounding numbers but those are greatly inflated. A lot of times he'll scream "It's mine!" for a rebound when one of his teammates is in better postion for a rebound. He loves to do this on free throws. He usually "steals" half of his rebounds.

On offense Boozer hasn't been able to create his own shot since 2011. He can shoot fadeaway long 2s when someone draws the double team.

I like the Hornets. I think that you guys have one of the coolest names in all of sports, with the history behind the name, the mascot, and the colors. Back when Eddy Curry was my favorite player in the league, Baron Davis was my 2nd favorite player, and I was rooting for the Hornets when Baron Davis was dueling T-mac, Kidd, and Iverson in the playoffs. I'm a huge Michael Jordan fan and I want him to be successful. I think that the Lance Stevenson signing is a good one. Yeah, he has flaws, but every NBA player does and he's only 23.

I really hope Boozer ends up with a team that I hate. I hate the Heat, Cavs, Celtics, Knicks, Pistons, 76ers, Pacers, and Wizards. It's very rare that I like another team in the East, but I'll root for the Hornets this year when they're not playing the Bulls, and I never want to root for Boozer ever again.

I'll be rooting for the Bulls too when we're not playing you guys. I also hate the Heat and I'm really hoping some team is able to take Lebron and the Cavs down. I also hate the Celtics for helping Cleveland clear space for Lebron, thanks Ainge....
