Every time Clifford puts him in the game he is letting the entire organization down. We were finished the second he stepped on the court against Portland and Orlando. Every time he checks in I seriously want to turn the game off. I have never disliked a player being on a team I've followed as much as I dislike him being on this team. I honestly can't believe this is an issue. Sometimes I really wonder about Clifford... I don't at all understand how he could actually think that Maxiell makes more sense with AL than Biz/Zeller/Marvin do under virtually any circumstance unless he is basically incompetent.

I usually don't put much into +/- stats but it's funny looking at the box scores in his last two games and seeing 8 minutes with a -7 and 4 minutes with a -8. The team just tanks when he comes in. If we're not going to play our current guys over him, then we need to bring in someone. Dude shouldn't be playing at all.

Past 5 games (played 3) Jason has 1 assist and 1 rebound in 12 mins (not counting the IND game) we should cut him and bring in a D-League C that isn't the size of a fat SF

Just cut him and sign Seth Curry.

it is absurd. Anytime I see him checking in I feel like Clifford is purposely trying to make us lose. This entire situation is mind boggling. Putting this guy in the game is the equivalent of throwing in the white flag and giving up. Clifford actually puts him in the 4th quarter with the game on the line and within a matter of minutes the game is over.

I'd rather Vonleh get those minutes.

Watching Vucevic shoot right over the top of short Max last night I had the sad realization that Al Jeff's injury means the Hornets now can not afford to waive Maxiell by Jan 10, thereby not opening a spot for someone legitimately taller than 6'7, and that his soon to become guaranteed contract will be on the books the rest of the year. A 6'7 boulder of a center, just another reason to dislike watching this team. Ugh.

Maybe he'll be your Corey Maggette. By which I mean maybe he'll tank the Hornets hard enough that they get the next Steph Curry. Silver linings yada yada.

The year Maggette was here, we missed out on Anthony Davis by one pick.

Good for him.

He's fine for a third string center. He only played scrub minutes in blowouts in the month of December before Al went down.

good for him, he's certainly put in his time and earned it this season. I still wish he was sitting on the bench behind younger players who are thirsty for playing time, though.

Maxiell average less points than Biyombo from a raw & per minute standpoint while shooting under 40%, and only 6 rebounds per 36 minutes. I understand the value of experience, but his contract shouldn't have been guaranteed, neither should he have seen as much playing time as he has this season. If I wanted to watch a big stink it up on the floor while receiving more minutes than he should, I rather it Vonleh for developmental purposes

We are guaranteeing his contract... This situation never ceases to amaze me...

He's a third string center on a one year, $1M dollar deal. If Al was playing, maybe they cut him, but Al is hurt and they don't want to have to go find someone off the street and plug him in.

Don't get the big deal.

He must be doing some mentoring behind the scenes or something because his on-court performances have been largely icky. There is no way Vonleh can be worse.

Maxiell simply isn't good. There are D-Leaguers and free agents that can give us more production than what Maxiell is giving us on the floor. For all his faults, I feel like Byron Mullens could've learned a few things from Clifford, Ewing, and Big Al about being a NBA big man. Mullens wasn't getting annihilated every night by opposing backups like Maxiell does.

Yes.

I did in fact advocate bringing Mullens back to Charlotte.
