Where is bobsbuddy or whatever his name is. I miss his ridiculous post and emojis. This board is depressed and rightfully so.

Like Cody?
Cody's not really worth a **** either, he's just decidedly the least **** big man we've got. We drafted him to play the 4 b/c he's small for the 5. His game is much more suited for the 5 so he plays much better there. But he's small for the 5 so he gets injured all the time. We really suck at drafting and developing players.
This post is flat out idiotic.
Cody is one of the best young 5's in the NBA.
We are like 2-16 without him anchoring the middle. Don't be so oblivious.

Quite the pivot from "Cody is a **** center" to "his relative trade value isn't as great," especially when your original critique was that we haven't drafted any **** Cs.
No, not really. There haven't been many properly good C's in the league for a long time and truer today than ever. He's a **** center because he literally can't stay on the floor, IMO due to lack of true center size. Bad length, gets put on his ass every game and b/c guys like Whiteside moved him around like a plate hors d'vores we ended up with much scrubbier but decidedly big man Roy Hibbert as one of Cho's masterclass signings this offseason. But he's the best center we've got on our decidedly bad basketball team. That's all it is.

Re: Comfortably Plum - the Miles Plumlee Thread
Plumlee feeling like a panic signing. he set picks tonight but doesn't slip them the way Cody can. There were plays where he should have rolled but looks like he didn't want the ball, didn't make himself a target. After tonight, I'm not sure Plumlee's problem is just being out of shape, game called into question his BBIQ.

Our suckiness without Cody says more about how bad our backups are that how good Cody is. Imo
If we just had an average backup we would be fine, but that is no longer possible since we have plum who is pretty bad and way overpaid.

Not one iota. That empty stats false glimmer of hope kept Cho and Clifford on Life Support for too long. He was high grade treadmill fuel.

Re: Comfortably Plum - the Miles Plumlee Thread
I dont see how it was a bad deal. We gave up two of the worst players in the league for a backup center.
Our backup center was going to be worse next year if we didnt do something

Re: Comfortably Plum - the Miles Plumlee Thread
Its a lot of financial commitment to a guy who happens to be a backup center. HIbbert and Hawes were bad fits here, but its giving up to me if Plumlee is your answer.
Meanwhile, the Bucks have yet to use either guy in a game and I would say that they have won this trade so far.

Well... I guess the optimistic perspective would be, barring major injury, this is probably the worst of Plumlee we'll see. His conditioning level can only increase.

Re: Comfortably Plum - the Miles Plumlee Thread
So in the article on the main page it mentions our defense has been atrocious with Plumlee in the game.
Can someone post our offense / defense splits thus far with plumlee?
I'd like to see if it starts to improve with a few weeks learning his assignments.
I just cant imagine it will be as bad as hawes/hibbert was previously after he's had a few weeks to work in.

What did Vivek get for Cousins?
NOTHING!

What page are you referring to?
It's too early to judge his individual impact on D. D on the second unit has been a train wreck, and you can lay that all on the new guy.
In his first two games, he had a net rating of 0.3 (4th on team) and a drtg of 106.0 (link)
Roughly the same when you add in his 3rd game.
He was brutal in the LAC game, but he also only played 11 minutes - link to advanced box score
He got hurt in the PHI game.

Re: Comfortably Plum - the Miles Plumlee Thread
Plumlee is being paid like a high end backup, borderline starter, but his performance has been closer to that of a low end backup, borderline 3rd stringer (being a bit generous honestly). The early returns on the trade don't look good at all to me. He could turn it around and be solid for us, but once again we are relying on revitalizing the career of a seemingly washed up and declining veteran. I find it troubling that this seems to be our only strategy for adding talent these days. Trade for or sign a struggling veteran that used to be mediocre and hope he can turn it around and become mediocre again.

You have to ignore stuff like building our core with draft picks and adding multiple UDFAs and CWood last summer to get here.
Feels reasonable to give Miles more than two practices for a brand new team before we criticize him for not being up to speed with our defense.
