Apples, or any others that are high on Lauri, help sell me on him and his ability to help the Hornets.

What can he bring to our team other than shooting? Is his rebounding as bad as advertised? Does he have any potential as a defender, at the rim or in space? Does he have any value as a playmaker? What would be his role on our team in 2-3 years? Should we look to trade Frank or Marvin if we drafted Lauri (maybe not immediately, but by next summer)?

As a 19 year old he posted the best shooting performance maybe ever from a big. He's seven feet and coordinated.

He might not be a great rebounder, but he's fundamentally sound and has plus mobility given his size. He also has a decent handle in space and can actually attack closeouts. If he can put on weight no reason he can't be passable defensively and on the boards.

I don't think we have to trade anyone if we draft him, but I'd expect him to provide big depth and then be ready to step in to the rotation once Marv's contact is up.

The fact that he has the potential to be one of the best shooting big men ever makes him instantly relevant in the current NBA climate. He doesn't need to be a good defender, just not a terrible one, for him to have positive impact on the game.

I agree. His defense can be masked by a defensive minded coach like Clifford. I think we are all under estimating the significance of the fact this kid could be the best shooting big man ever. The thought that he could be any where in the zip code of KD has me sold.

I criticize Clifford quite a bit, but a nice thing about his system is that it really does seem like it doesn't matter who we put at center, our defense will be fine as long as our wings are adequate.

Is the assumption that Lauri ends up as a center?

5 minute Lauri breakdown from the Suns twitter, interview with his coach, Sean Miller. And +5 for the Suns reporter.

I think he'll be able to play some PF and C, but he seems a bit more suited for the 5 to me.

Is this a fair question? Lauri or Leaf? Lauri gets the nod for height and volume?

I actually think Leaf is underrated, but that's some major volume difference from three. Oregon also had a much more generally talented team and a true PG that occupied a ton of defensive attention.

What does Oregon have to do with two dudes from Arizona and UCLA?

Is there any way that Markkanen could be a 7' SF?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'm trying to read/watch everything I can on Lauri to get a better idea of his game. I'm feeling a little better about him as a player compared to this morning, but still not sold. I worry that he won't be able to take advantage of his size if teams guard him with a smaller player. We've seen teams go small vs Frank and take him out of a game, and Frank seems to have a lot more to his game that would allow him to take advantage of smaller players. Is he someone that you can keep in a game in a playoff series?

I like that he seems to have good touch with his left hand.

I do think you can becausese unlike Frank he is a quick release guy who doesn't need much space to get good shot off. Frank seems to want to set more than I think is best but Lauri will be more effective as a pure shooter. Just my opinion but I think he is a better pure stretch 4 while Frank is more an all-round guy who needs to learn to play tougher to be effective.
