I want to do the same but with Batum being traded and not Kemba! The Problem is if some dummy team takes Batum, Kemba will still get us a lot of W's. Man are we stuck in the mud under Cho. He will probably trade Monk and our first for Lou Williams!

for the context, monk and a 1st for lou isn't even a bad trade

also, batum is probably one of the 5 worst contracts in the league. at least blake puts butts in seats. batum? people pay money to not watch him at this point

Lou is about to get paid this offseason though.

we paid zeller of all people, why should paying lou be a problem for this franchise? its not like this team is adverse to giving up on rookies quick either

Would need to free cap space in order to resign Lou without a massive tax hit.

The irony is we originally drafted Harris and then were offered that crap sandwich deal.

Doc isn't the GM anymore. They demoted him a while back.

Now that Marv is down, I wouldn't bother trading anyone until the off-season. Then trade nic for sure and see what we can get for Dwight's expiring deal.

Haha. If we would have done that deal I would probably boycott this team for a while.

That's just an insulting offer from Detroit. Kemba is not damaged goods, he's not a malcontent, he's in the dead-center of his prime and he's clearly a top-25 player. That's gotta be better than 24th pick + Harris. MKG on top is just trolling, even if his value is low.

I hope Cho just hung up on SVG. Get real.

For all the chatter about big names, and despite the Blake trade, I think such a deal involving Kemba will be very difficult to pull off. Still plenty of time remaining, but if that posted trade for Walker from Detroit is any indication, getting real value is tough.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

That is a massive low ball offer but would not surprise me if it was true. I really don't think the league is nearly as high on Kemba as Charlotte is, which is really depressing since he's our franchise and only decent trade chip.

If we had Tobias Harris on our team we’d be content with keeping him on the roster until he plays himself into having no value at all.

I don’t think that trade proposal is any indication to what Kemba is worth around the league. It was just what the Pistons were willing to give up without losing their playoff contending team. It’s difficult to make a trade around Kemba in today’s climate because his contract is such a bargain, it’s difficult to match salaries without taking back a bad contract, and not many teams are willing to give up a lot for a undersized guard. IT in Cleveland doesn’t help matters.

hell, i'd give up Kemba and Dwight for a few months of IT if meant that we can get that pick and offload Batum

that's the dream

Then it's yours.

You don't even need to dream to get back on your feet with this team, as frustrated as they have been. The main issue for now is to take decisions with Frank, Lamb and MKG.
Howard, and even Batum (yes...) will find takers either for what they can (could?) do or because of their contract (which will become expirings sooner than later, knowing Batum has a PO that everyone considers he will activate, which is not really a guarantee).

Losing Kemba would be the dumbest thing to do in such a small market and with so many meh picks in last drafts. Biggest issue being now to find a way to convince Kemba to stay on a 'friendly max' contract. If they cannot get an extension, then obviously Hornets should trade him. But certainly not otherwise.

For now, i think with a real 3D (ennis expiring, just saying, and even J. Green could be a good option if Memphis raises the white flag this season) would improve drastically this team performance, and potentially it could help to develop more freely Monk at the same time.
Right now, even if some stats say otherwise, there are too many liabilities and players having to back up their teammate. Things are geting (much) better with starters lately, but the bench is still atrocious defensively, Frank and Job being only part of the problem here.
Need to be smart and jump on good opportunities (Scotts was one, i would say i would check oj mayo's conditioning already and check if he could be add for cheap, that could be sort of a T. Evans for this team).

Right now, the main focus is with bench production and the closing line up knowing i still don't want to see Batum closing (even if Lamb was subpar in the 4th last couple of games and unless Batum is used at the 4 with another guy used in dribble penetration if kemba is doubled t).

that's a great recipe for another treadmill imo

'friendly' max is lol too. if he stays here, he's looking to get conley money. every single player you listed is a bum

I wish i could find a way to land a superstar on a friendly deal for the price of losing Lamb and Frank, but somehow i can only find something like this :D

Both Green and Ennis are servicable role players you know. The kind of decent players who do the dirty job generally without blinking and geting all the praise, yet on nice contracts (and tradable..).
Davis is the biggest bet, but he is on a rookie scale contract for another 2 years and only 21. They have plenty of rookies, i consider it's time to move on from Frank. As simple as that. I don't follow the nba enough to know if there are promising bigs elsewhere ( a bit like Cauley-Stein when DMC was still with the kings).

Dreaming is cool but at this point i see the reality and i feel like if no big changes can be done, there are still some to do to consolidate the "losses" without losing everything. If this team gets relevant again by improving its balance (bench, defense vs offense), especially once Cody will be back, then there is just no reason not to do it (or something alike).
