That is a pretty good looking rooster.

Pooty might be on to something.

And on that note (interestingly enough):

The Hornets are top 5 in the league for new ticket sales.

I really like the timeline of it as well. It's a 2 year, reasonable deal. After those 2 years, he's off the books (or if he really shows us something we can choose to move forward with him) AND the Batum stretch is also done. Melo will be entering his 4th season which he will be playing when he is 22 years old. At that point, either Miles is our second star, or we can bring in our second star who will hopefully have seen our upward trajectory as an organization and feel that they can put us over the top.

And for now, I think we're going to be a playoff team barring health.

Man, if he accepts the 6th man role then Smith/Bouk/Oubre/McD/PJ is a very fun 2nd unit.

Read on Twitter

this leads me to believe there may indeed be a S&T type situation with Markkinen or perhaps even something else. but either way, I would imagine these dominoes fall today.

We can sign Oubre outright. How would there be more moving pieces with this one? Golden State trying to get a trade exception or something?

It did seem like we were on the bad end of a bunch of those highlights!!

I wouldn't be shocked if the Oubre signing was for a S&T. No one in the media has any Hornets sources outside of Rod Boone, so no one knows what the hell we're doing. I love it, lmao.

Well Golden State can't match the offer or anything like that so it would just be them giving us a 2nd round pick too so they could get a TPE

DeRozan and Dinwiddie were UFAs too, both went to new teams via a sign and trade. GS at the very least wants a TPE, but we could send Oubre to another team as well. We'll find out one way or another pretty soon.

It may not be related to Oubre persay. Maybe the Hornets are doing more with the Graham trade then signing Oubre.

This is where I get confused and why the Kemba ordeal confused me a little as well (Boston getting a TPE). If a team can sign a player as a UFA why do a sign and trade and make sure the other team gets something, anything for him?

Can't be a sign and trade because those require at least 3 years on the contract, unless the years have been misreported.

Ewwwwwww. I didn't know Oubre is such a bad 3pt shooter.

33% for his career with 32% last season.

His best ever regular season from 3 was 2019 when he went 35% with the Suns.
