Aside from shooting, I can definitely see what you mean.

I was shocked to learn he's still so young. He's three years younger than Martin! It would be a great story if the home state kid who seemed like a lotto bust in his other stops ends up putting it together for us.

Between Smith and Maledon I feel like we've gone from no good backup PG to two legitimately good options. I'm honestly not sure who I prefer between them, they've both been rock solid.

No doubt, it's made the possibility of trading Rozier a lot more tenable.

If DSJ can continue to be a threat off the ball I'd argue he's a better fit with LaMelo than Rozier is.

Love Smith. Love Maledon. Frankly just awesome that we made these 2 nifty acquisitions! Going from Crutcher to DSJ/Maleon for PG depth is incredible. The fact that they have both been able to provide quality performances despite being with the team for so short a period of time is very promising. Two young, two-way PGs. Gonna be tough when everyone's healthy for Maledon to get minutes, but he deserves them.

This is my speculation on a different thread. Rozier is certainly higher rated but that’s due to history and production. Trading him for a different impact player (say a starting PF) while using LaMelo and DSJ in the same backcourt could be a great move for the future of this team. Might also require PJ or Oubre in the mix. Depends on who we’d get, which not sure there’s anyone remotely available that fits such a scenario.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Defensive back. I could see him at safety for sure.

i might have to exit the dsj love dome. love the defense and effort, but the shooting is just brutal outside of 3 feet. maybe will look better when not paired with 3 others who cant score.

Kind of where I'm at. I like him. If they draft a Wemby or a wing with their 1st pick then he still seems like a nice backup PG option going forward, but there are certain guards they could draft that would make me just want to move on from him.

since returning he is
3-for-27 on shots outside 8 feet
4-for-32 outside restricted area
3-for-32 on jumpshots
1-for-13 from 3, including 0-for-10 above break

this is MKG level awful.

and yet... despite all that, he has best net rating among rotations players over past 8

I want to see some more Maledon to see who will be better as a back up next year.

updates, past 12 games

5-for-46 on shots outside 8 feet
9-for-60 outside restricted area
6-for-53 on jumpshots
1-for-22 from 3, including 0-for-19 above break

like, HOLY ****!!! just play Theo already. Aint no guard's defense worth this nonsense. at least he is 71% in restricted area on 31 attempts. it was a fun feel good story at first, but the wheels fells off after his month long break.

You think Clifford will not pick his MCW clone to play?

I agree, I actually would have preferred Theo start today with Rozier, he’s got the size and I don’t like terrys point guard skills

Clifford playing that 3 guard lineup with Ball, Rozier and him I think more has to do with hiding his offense than we have nobody better to play in that spot.

While I appreciate the overall idea of this thread name, not sure it's fair to link dsj to Miles. Dsj needs a thread name, but can we come up with a better name that doesn't reference that POS miles?
