Good update hotrod.
"The Bobcats should probably take it at this point, unless of course they value the cap space that will be created by Diaw leaving at season’s end more than they do the draft pick.
And honestly, they just might. Especially when it comes with an extra season of $8 million in salary committed to Farmar and Petro."
This is the stance i've taken on the rumored deal all along (valuing the $8 million in cap space more than a year of Farmar and a draft pick that will be in the late teens at best and second round at worst.) The offer is a good one worthy of consideration but I would ultimately pass and think that Cho is right holding out for an additional asset like Morrow.
NJ's reluctance to part with Morrow and Brooks is justified as they are the only two players on their roster with trade value apart from Lopez and Dwill (Hump shockingly has a no-trade clause). But, If NJ's best offer amounts to us buying their Houston pick by sacrificing 8 mil of our next season's cap space, I would politely decline.
While its a long shot that we will be able to use the $8mil to lure in a FA like Chandler, its nice to have the flexibility if an opportunity does present itself and at the very least, we can certainly use it to absorb incoming salary in an offseason trade.
