With this most recent hoopla I think Orlando has to trade him now. This is good news for the Bobcats. This is going to be a VERY interesting night and day!

I have a solution. Just sub that pick for Jenkins and Tyler. We'll send Doris the Explorer and DJ White as compensation or something like that (whatever works money wise).

My dude Charles Jenkins in Charlotte? Would be awesome.

Anyway, I wonder if Cho is trying to push Batum in talks with Portland. With the rumors that we want Morrow from NJ, I think it's possible we're waving Henderson out as a piece to acquire Batum or someone else.

I don't know how the fan base would feel about that but Cho's the type of guy that would make that move if he felt it was best long-term.

Rumored deal almost done... Crawford to Minny, Beasley to Lakets, and Blake to Blazers

Wonder how Kobe, Metta and SCB will mesh?

I would have like to have wrangled Beasley out of them if the price was cheap.

This is the best place Beasley could have possibly landed. No more ego for him. If he acts up Kobe will verbally lash him and Artest may literally beat the living hell out of him. I look for him to thrive, and the Lakers got him for essentially only Steve Blake?

Genius.

Magic Johnson said on ESPN that the Magic should call the Lakers and the Lakers would give up Bynum or Gasol for Dwight and that's the best trade for the Magic and the Nets are the best trade for Dwight, but Magic clearly does not have any bias!

So Portland will happily trade Crawford for Blake!

Blake is a McMillan favourite but they must be getting some picks as well.

Good update hotrod.

"The Bobcats should probably take it at this point, unless of course they value the cap space that will be created by Diaw leaving at season’s end more than they do the draft pick.

And honestly, they just might. Especially when it comes with an extra season of $8 million in salary committed to Farmar and Petro."

This is the stance i've taken on the rumored deal all along (valuing the $8 million in cap space more than a year of Farmar and a draft pick that will be in the late teens at best and second round at worst.) The offer is a good one worthy of consideration but I would ultimately pass and think that Cho is right holding out for an additional asset like Morrow.

NJ's reluctance to part with Morrow and Brooks is justified as they are the only two players on their roster with trade value apart from Lopez and Dwill (Hump shockingly has a no-trade clause). But, If NJ's best offer amounts to us buying their Houston pick by sacrificing 8 mil of our next season's cap space, I would politely decline.

While its a long shot that we will be able to use the $8mil to lure in a FA like Chandler, its nice to have the flexibility if an opportunity does present itself and at the very least, we can certainly use it to absorb incoming salary in an offseason trade.

Crawford held out of game tonight due to trade talks.

Also saw on espn that Stat, Lin, and Baron are not happy about coaching change. Interesting.

Lakers getting Beasley wreaks of desperation. Pat Riley gave him away for peanuts and now the T-Wolves. He's dumb, selfish, terrible on defense and a bad teammate. Also, his minutes fluctuate wildly each game, tells me the coaching staff is fed up with him. Looking at the T-Wolves wins and losses, it sure seems like they lose a lot more when he plays lots of minutes, and win when he hardly plays at all. Teammates probably can't stand him.

At this point I'd rather let diaw expire and offer the $9m to someone like Batum/McGee/Hibbert/Humphries. Could probably use the DJ's to get a good 1st rounder

Yeah, I'm tired of harboring bums like Diop and Carroll on the roster like so much dead weight. If we trade anybody, it better be for something decent or a worthwhile draft pick.

Two $3-4M contracts that cost us for only one year after this one? I'll take a 15th-20th pick for that hands down. We can trade those contracts, too, if necessary. They're not terrible, and we're not likely to sign a superstar; we have the $$$$ to sign someone like Batum or Humphries. We're not signing $14M/year contracts this summer *cough*Javale*cough*.
