Well, precautions are good. I guess.

How can that possibly be true when he has 1 turnover and 3 PFs in around 35 minutes played? He has led breaks and scored multiple times off the dribble.
It feels like a major reach to say he's always out of control. Have you watched both games?
yeah his dribble is ugly as hell but he hasn't been reckless with it.

First time he leads the break is a charge, the defender just gets a bad wistle. The second time he takes a bad shot that misses and he gets the rebound. Both times he is dribbling as fast as possible with his head down into a defender.

I mean I'm not a fan of the pick but good grief. He hasn't looked bad at all. Sarr went 0 for forever last night as the 2nd pick. If he did something like that sure but damn

Yeah I dunno I'm not seeing that head down as fast as possible into a defender.
Had Edey done that same **** you'd be calling for him to make All-NBA

first one is a very common NBA play, thats why its crap being a ref having to make that close call all the time.
i have no problem with the 2nd shot and the dribbling looks pretty controlled to me.

I don’t see much of an issue in resting him. He did a good job in the first two SL games, better than I expected. He’s raw, but there’s potential.

The play looks pretty identical to Giannis who gets those called blocks 90% of the time.

Re: Eye Of The Tiger: The Tidjane Salaun Thread
Awful dribbling.
Awful hands (dropped 5-6 passes this week that should absolutely have been dunks. At the combine he had unusually small hands as well)
Runs in transition and cleans up on the offensive boards, so the stats look efficient, but he shot 1-17 outside of the restricted area. 3-7 on FTs too so the shot is a big problem.
0 blocks, 1 steal in total. Not a defensive playmaker.
I’m concerned we just drafted an energy guy with the 6th pick over real difference makers like Clingan, Buzelis, and Ware.

Some here are very brave defending him. I feel defenders/proponents of the selection will be sliced in half by the proverbial buzzsaw, so I'm not going to stick my neck out and attack him. It's not up to his detractors to set some record with him.
It's up to Salaun himself.
He's going to have to learn to do more with the ball in his to win over the more skeptical fans.
I just doubt Peterson had Salaun 1st on the board, or even 2nd. I think he was 3rd at best, behind Castle, Reed. And how could Charlotte have Salaun above Risacher? So maybe Salaun was 4th on our board.
Do they expect pom poms?
We ended up with possibly our 4th option in a questionable draft. At pick 6, no less.
Houston seemed to engage the entire league at 3. Atlanta even took calls on 1 overall. They canvased the league for premium charge.
The fact Hawks and Rockets made their picks, shows their asking prices were unreasonably high. For instance, Houston could've asked for Mark Williams + 6 for 3. We obviously would balk at Mark for 3 straight up.

Re: Eye Of The Tiger: The Tidjane Salaun Thread
If the Wiz had offered Deni Avdija for the right to select Salaun, would anyone here jump at the offer and add Avdija (23) to the core?
Instead, Blazers walked away with Clingan & Avdija. Salaun feels light.

This is 2 years straight we let their preferred player fall to them without a hefty toll.

Re: Eye Of The Tiger: The Tidjane Salaun Thread
My only real problem with this lottery pick is the extreme youth. Tidjane may be a big dude, but he's an eighteen-year-old kid who has a long road to maturity ahead of him. I actually think he can develop into a great player. He has the aptitude and attitude. But eighteen...dang, it'll be at least a couple of years before he'll be ready to contribute to a winning squad.
I'm so sick of rooting for a losing franchise. Maybe the future is brighter than I can see? I dunno. Tidjane Salaun 2027.

Re: Eye Of The Tiger: The Tidjane Salaun Thread
Clearly the pick was made for paying dividends 2 years from now. Miles declining contract spells it out. We got TJ to replace Miles when Mark and Miller get paid. He is 18. He should look raw and unrefined. If he plays like he does now with 2 years of Lee coaching him on how to play NBA style basketball then we should be disappointed with the pick.
