Jazz fan here, Charlotte is about to get bombarded with calls for the 4th pick. You're in an interesting position, and it'll be interesting to see what the Hornets do.

Ace can't both be falling / crashing his value and generating efforts from multiple teams to move up to draft him.

Either he's falling and they can simply wait on him or not.

His floor is 5 imo, and Hornets may be in position to catch him as he falls. 4 is a soft landing for him. 6 would be horrible for him.

I think his promise is with Utah.

What do Jazz fans mostly think about Ace?

Rumor is the Sixers and Hornets are getting hit with calls on 3 and 4 and weighing offers.

I think the calls are mostly focused on Fears because he plays the most pivotal position for rebuild teams. But Ace being a potential #1 scoring option should shield him from falling past 5.

I think the Hornets will be in position to either take Ace or Fears, or flip one of them to the highest bidder.

5, 6, 7, and 8 all need a franchise PG.

Ace is in the news.

But Fears is the big secret.

Supposedly the Wizards tried to hide interest by working him out at a neutral location (Georgetown) instead of their team facility where media are swarming.

Wizards don't want to incite bids from Jazz, Pelicans, and Nets.

So it's all Ace Ace Ace.

Peterson and Philly must be weighing multiple offers. Could there be teams bidding on VJ and Tre as well? Possibly.

But I think the bidding war centers on the one piece all these rebuild teams need. Sixers have Maxey and Hornets have LaMelo at the position, thus we are listening.

But Ace, Tre, VJ may be too good to resist. I would like to see our front office swing for the upside of Fears who some scouts have 2 or 3 in terms of upside.

Take Fears 4 then see if that changes the offers. Force their hand.

Ace's promise is probably from Brooklyn. The Jazz might still draft him at 5 as their guy. It depends, in part, on whether Charlotte takes Tre Johnson at 4 or whether Charlotte wants Kon Knueppel.

You have to assume that FOs need to be marketed to in order for scouts to be assigned in order for this to be true.

Teams know who Fears is, there's no secret prospect there.

I think the Jazz have Flagg in his own tier. Harper in the next tier. Then Tre, VJ and Ace in the next tier.

If Tre and VJ are gone at 5, I think Danny Ainge would draft Ace and try to make him the next Jayson Tatum.

The Jazz are also taking a hard look at Knueppel and Fears. Fears is now coming in for a 2nd workout.

Yeah, about the same around these parts.

The consensus over here is that Flagg will go #1, Harper will go #2, VJ will go #3, and the draft starts with Charlotte at #4.

Charlotte will probably be looking at Tre Johnson and Kon Knueppel. Meanwhile, Charlotte is going to be getting trade calls from Washington, Brooklyn and New Orleans.

Jazz are also going to get calls from teams that want Tre, Ace, Fears, Kon, etc.

Now that is interesting.

Does Ainge trust none of: Wizards, Pelicans, Nets to jump to 3 or 4 for Fears?

The Jazz would be thrilled if Fears went at 3 or 4. That means Tre Johnson gets to #5. (No one thinks VJ is getting past Charlotte.)

Jazz favor a sniper over a franchise PG?

Why?

It's historically been difficult to be efficient with a relatively small and ball dominant PG, even if he's dynamic. That said, the Jazz are obviously giving him a serious look.

Why don't you just explain your point? I don't get the thing where you post something cryptic, I ask what you mean, and you just deep the conversation.

Let me say something friends. I really LOVE THE PASSION from all of you Hornets fans on this board!

To think such a lousy team still has a good number of fans deeply invested in these Hornets, and their future, says a lot about the staying power of everyone here. We are a week away from the draft, and this forum has been debating or discussing these players long before we were cheated out of Cooper Flagg by Skeletor. I love coming on here, reading everyone’s ideas, learning, catching the latest posting of news or rumors. Thank you to everyone who shares them.

Most of us still have no clue what the Hornets will do. But many of you have your favorites, and for good reasons. Master Ichiro wants Fears big time! Some still want Ace even if he disses on the Hornets like a bum taking a dump in public. VJ is/was/may still be attractive but is the latest likely to be taken ahead. Kon is the most controversial yet, as of today, the most likely selection. Tre is the sharp shooter in hiding, who may sneak up on everyone until his name follows “with the 4th pick, the Charlotte Hornets select…”. Then we have trade back possibilities that bring excitement and dread.

Just another Hornets lottery draft. Thanks all for making my days enjoyable as a forum participant. Now, back to regular programming….whose up for trading Melo?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Your pattern is undermining the first point of a case and dismissing it as something invalid.

I'm tired of it.

The simple point is that I believe in my opinion that the interest in trading up centers on Fears despite us hearing it centers on Ace.

This is my opinion and it differs from yours and neither of us can prove it.
