Amazing deal for us. If we can resign Batum for under 15m per year we're gonna be in such great shape

Has anybody heard anything about mkg shooting threes? I haven't heard anything unlike last summer when we saw and heard he was doing it in the off season.

Get away from him Larry. Get your slimy, good for nothing, two-faced, backstabbing ass away.

I bet that some would be happy with LB being the coach this year, at least for one reason - he'd absolutely play the heck out of MKG. Would love a defensive player like him on his team.

MKG posted a hilarious pic of him and Lin on twitter. MKG posing as MKG security".

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

That is an awesome picture. I love that he's wearing an actual security uniform and playing up the MKG security thing and that Lin is taking it all in stride and making a joke out of it.

Lin and MKG are definitely developing a pretty good friendship, that's always good to see.

That was genuinely hilarious, love it.

Also, I think the Lin zealots might be onto something with all the rabid hype. Looks like he caught a growth spurt over the offseason, MKG is 6'7 and Lin is easily five inches taller in that shot. A 7'2 PG may be something special indeed.

He has a higher release point and appears to be shooting without his guide hand in the new photo. The placement of his guide hand was always really poor so it's a good call that the staff has him practicing without it. It's not ideal to compare a physical motion in still frame photos, but based on the differences that are apparent I'd definitely say it's an improvement.

I wouldn't mind if he kicked it, provided he's behind the 3 point line.

He could shoot it from his ass as long as it went in.

Photos also don't tell the whole story because it's the weird stop-start thing he does right in the middle of his motion that effs it all up (at least aesthetically). I expect an improvement though for sure, regardless of how it looks or how smooth the motion of his shot has become. Kid is a ridiculous worker, he has honed in on improving his shot and I have full confidence that it will pay dividends for him. The only question is can he actually become above-average, because that's what would take him from rich man's Tony Allen (not a knock on MKG, Allen has waaaaay more impact than most realize) to Kawhi Leonard territory.

I doubt he has 3 point range yet. Just a hunch.

thats the same form, just pictures captured at different points in his shot..as long as he looks at the basket through the window between his right forearm and bicep his shot is going to be weird looking.

From ESPN Insider's Tom Haberstroh player profiles:
Scouting report
+ Defensive stalwart with range of a 7-foot stiff with injury issues
+ Extremely high motor, excellent rebounder and foul-drawer
+ Revamped shot mechanics. Signed four-year extension

Analysis
Kidd-Gilchrist didn't take a single 3-pointer last season, becoming the first wing player to do so while logging over 1,500 minutes since Desmond Mason in 2007-08. There just aren't players like him in the modern NBA. Amazingly, he's much improved as a jump shooter, doubling his mid-range makes last season from 2013-14, but he still has the range of a broken Wi-Fi router compared to the rest of his peers.

Kidd-Gilchrist's uniqueness goes beyond his M.I.A. jump shot. He's an elite defender (third in defensive RPM at his position) despite almost never stealing the ball. By comparison, MKG's top comp, Tony Allen, has four times the steal rate as the former No. 2 overall pick. But Kidd-Gilchrist bottles up his opponents and holds them to a mere 14.0 PER, according to 82games tracking, despite routinely picking up the team's best perimeter player.

He's an elite cutter who desperately needs to play with a crafty distributor (Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lin don't count). Otherwise, Kidd-Gilchrist's offensive firepower is muffled to just transition opportunities. He signed a four-year, $52 million extension that rewards him for his defensive and glass-cleaning exploits, but it's clear he still has a long ways to go before he lives up to his draft slot. Also worth noting: he's five months younger than Frank Kaminsky.
