Does the team need to figure out who was blabbing to the whole world that we loved Frank and were going to take him, or was that part of some kind of orchestrated campaign to fake everybody out with a false smokescreen or something? I mean, ideally the whole planet wouldn't know who we were dying to pick several days prior to the draft, right? Seems like something that might bite us in the butt at some point if it isn't addressed.

My guess is that that narrative is going to disappear this year.

Hope so. Wonder what kinda stats Kaminsky will put up.

I think he would play since Jordan wanted him to come to Charlotte so bad

I was thinking about that. Not just Frank, but news that we wanted Cody was everywhere too. MKG and Noah were surprises, but then again we probably changed our original plan when Noah was available at 9.

I promise you they were not good picks or Boston would be leaking exactly what picks were offered. The article said they were offered six picks, four of which were "potential" 1st round picks. So it was probably No. 16 & 28, the Minny pick (read two seconds), and maybe the 2018 Brooklyn pick or another protected pick. That's a weak offer for a top 10 pick. You're trading the best asset and you're trading it now for a bunch of middling picks. You saw what was left on the board when Boston was picking.

It's a terrible offer for Justise Winslow but a great offer for Frank Kaminsky.

Is anyone for certain that Justise Winslow will be a better NBA player than Frank Kaminsky?

For certain? No. However I think Winslow landed in a perfect situation for it to bite the Hornets' franchise in the ass in hindsight with the Heat as he'll be surrounded a legendary coach in Pat Riley, All-Star caliber players a la Chris Bosh & Goran Dragic, and a beyond solid youth movement of Hasaan Whiteside & Shabazz Napier, with the possibility to being groomed by a future HOF'er that has a similar playing style in Dwyane Wade

Winslow get drafted by Charlotte, I think his future get a little bit muddled under the circumstances of range shooting being a dire need unless he was going to be the incumbent successor of MKG

no

but according to so many people here we missed out on the next wade

too many teams with need passed on him for me to get hot and bothered about it.

miami hasn't developed any talent outside of wade in a decade though

hell, riley didn't even want wade. says plenty about their scouting imo

no

they stumbled across a great player - and then didn't know how to handle him and felt the need to cut his minutes, reprimand him, etc later in the season.
