God, it sucks that the cRaptors are targeting Barnes hardbody.. it will be a pain to see the UNC alumni in that craphole.. I really wish we would've tanked so we could draft him. I really hope they draft a Euro

I want Kemba Walker.

Re: 2010/11 NCAA Game Thread/Prospects Watch
During the NCAA Tournament, I plan to watch San Diego State a few times to watch Kawhi Leonard. Only saw 1 game and just a bit of that one. But from everything I read and hear, this kid is special. I know we need a Big over a SF, but you cannot pass up the best player on the board when you are picking somewhere from #10 - #16, which is also the range for Leonard. I have read a few places that if he takes San Diego State deep into the Tourney, then there is a good chance he breaks into the Top 10. If he plays well and we end up having him on the Board when we select, would not be surprised at all to see him as a Bobcat next season.

I dont know what to say about this one. RGM Mock from 3/15 has us taking Bismack Biyombo, a PF from Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. A 6' 7" 248 lb project PF. On ESPN they have him rated #66 and 2nd round to undrafted. What in the heck is Chris R. thinking here at RGM with us taking this kid at #10?

I saw that too and LOL'd.
I had to Google the kid just to find out who the heck he is!!
He does have an awesome name though. You can just imagine him swatting a shot 18 rows back and the GT exploding with:
YOU GOT BI-SMACKED!!!!

He is 6-9 and 240. Also he listed as PF/C. With limited options for C positions in this draft, I can see his stock raising. I have seen some footage but first heard about him about like 2 months ago. Probably a lock for first round if he declares (not considering possible contract problems, I don't know his situation).

Re: 2010/11 NCAA Game Thread/Prospects Watch
Draft Express rank him 21st overall in their top 100 prospects but then don't have him in their mock draft.
Weird.
Edit: I got curious so I went searching for some video of him. He is what you would expect, a strong athletic 6'9 power forward. From the snippets I saw, it looked like he enjoyed mixing it up in the key, good at getting rebounding position and fighting for boards. But I don't think its just a coincidence that I never saw footage of him taking a shot or even attempting anything other than a layup or dunk.
Still I can see a team taking him for his athleticism and his strength around the ring. At the very least, it looks like he could fill a Reggie Evans with shot blocking role right now. But I'm sure he could develop a lot more, he is drawing a lot of comparisons to Ibaka.
Anyhow, I should probably leave scouting to the experts.

I think he can be a special player in the NBA. I'm not too excited about anyone else out there.

If we were gonna pick a project just because he was big I'd rather gamble on Lucas Nogeira. At least he's 7' and only 18.

Bobcats 2011 Draft/NCAA Players Scouts should Consider
Please give the following:
Name of player/ position/ size / School /Game Watched/ Comments
Kenneth Faried/ PF/ 6'8"215lbs/ Morehead State v Louisville/ Faried had 12 points and 17 rebounds and is a player that contributes on both ends of floor getting both offensive and defensive Boards. His foot work/Speed is outstanding. He's outstanding finding loose balls off the boards, but needs to develop a 10-15 foot shot. Add 15lbs to his frame and he could be a good bench Contributor at 4 and may be still around with our second pick in first round.

Its March madness time and many of the best of the best NCAA players are being showcased on 5 different networks. Bobcats probably will have an 8-10 pick and an 18-22 pick in the first round. We can help the scouting staff by bringing up some names of what we are seeing in these March Madness games.Who knows we may find a sleeper the Bobcats scouts havn't seen?
