OK performance for Leonard in Round 2 game. 21 pts 10 reb 2 asst. Went 9/13 on shooting. Gotta do a little more tho to get noticed enough to break into the Top 10. Kinda hope he just hangs where he is so we have a better shot at hiim if we cannot get a Big like Kanter. He seems to have moved into the Top 5.

Jimmer with 32 pts 4 reb 7 assists. Guy has unreal range on the 3.

Weird.

They have him in top 10 in 2012.

Guy changed my mind with this game. I was gonna be bummed if we chose him. But I liked what I saw. His basketball IQ is off the charts. Has a good handle, good vision. Hard worker who kept pressing. Used his wide-body strength. Was surprised by how much he scored on drives and mid-range stuff, not just bombs. Most of all, the guy clearly has Buzz - that drive to win and the "Look at me" energy that would at least make our team a whole lot more fun to watch.

caveat: against Wofford, he actually looked quick; will watch with interest to see how that goes vs. better teams.

I think someone taking Jimmer from #14 and later would be making a safe pick. Dont think I see anyone else after that pick whom I think has a safer and better upside. At worst I think the guy's hustle, intensity and scoring threat make him a very solid rotation player who can contribute. At best, he is a scoring machine which this team could really use.

One guy that caught my eye in yesterday's games was Tyler Honeycutt at UCLA.
16 pts on 5-9, including 3-4 from 3 pt land. 6'8" and nice and long, smooth SF might
slot in nicely for us in the NO pick.

I like his guy too. Saw him play for the first time yesterday.
He reminds me of Tayshaun Prince, same body type, same movement, and solid on offense and defense.

Defiantly want to watch the Oakland Texas game. Look at Keith Benson and Jordan Hamilton. Both could potentially be in our range and both would fill needs.

I've said this guy for weeks. He is a very solid player with a quickly developing shot. However after watching him I think he will project much better as a SG in the NBA. I don't think with shoes off he is 6'8". He doesn't look much bigger than Hendo on the floor. HOwever, if he can sho he can play SF defensively at the NBA level he would go well with Hendo. His shooting would be a nice asset to play with Hendo, kind of like switched roles offensively with Hendo playing more like a SF and Honeycutt more as a SG. Which is why as long as he can play SF's defensively, it wouldn't be terrible. I think he could be a terrific shooter, much like Jordan Hamilton except I think Honeycutts game is more wide ranged. Not limited to jus tthe catch and shoot.

Hamilton would be a nice go to scorer type guy next to Hendo I think. His defense is not strong, but he does appear to be a guy you can count on to score the ball. I also think he plays well next to Hendo because he is a good 3 point shooter and can stretch the defense.

It's tough projecting which will be the better NBA player, Honeycutt or Hamilton. Tht's probably what we will have to decide. Maybe throw Terrance Jones in there too. Good thing is, we will have plenty of talent to pick from to fill a very important hole on this team.

well we need a back up SG For hendo, if our two draft picks are relatively close, i would draft both Hamilton and Honeycutt, and pray we can draft Benson with our 2nd round pick

Hendo/Honeycutt
Jax/Hamilton

would be very deadly on the wings and would be deeper then the team we had this year and last year.

Can't say I'm against that one. I do think that Honeycutt will project nicely as a SG. And to bring someone off the bench for Hendo who projects to have as nice a shot as Honeycutt could be deadly. Plus I would hope we find our future SF between one of the two. I've seen some say Benson won't even be drafted. Hard to believe that a 7 footer averaging 18 and 10 with 3.6 blocks would go undrafted. His defense is suspect at best, but you can't teach size and he has that.

DJ/Liv
Hendo/Honeycutt
Jack/Hamilton
Thomas/DJW
Kwame/Benson/Diop

Now that's a pretty good group of young players that you could develop something out of. I would love the potential of that lineup, i'm with you on drafting both of Honeycutt and Hamilton if it is possible. Who would go higher though? I think both may be drafted pretty close to eachother.

according to NBA draft.net honeycutt is projected at 17 and hamilton is projected at 21

http://www.nbadraft.net/2011mock_draft

so we could have both if they don't have huge tourneys easily, I think our draft targets should follow as this, Pipe dream) Harrison Barnes 1)Perry Jones [his stock is sliding and could easily fall to us] 2)Terrance Jones 3) Jordan Hamilton/Tyler Honeyycutt.. [ I wouldn't be mad if we drafted any of these with our first pick.
Then with our 2nd pick I think we should go after 1) Tyler Honeycutt/Jordan Hamilton 2) Keith Benson 3) Nolan Smith

Who is this Tobias harris kid?! He's a beast right now! 6-6 fg 7-7ft. From his stats bio, he's a freshman pf averaging 15.2 pts, 7.3 rbs. in 29 mins. That's impressive for a freshman.

Benson has not been impressive. I now see why he is considered a 2nd round pick. He is just not big enough and is easily getting pushed around. He has offensive skill and has length, but lacks the muscle to stay in the block against NBA C's. Still wouldn't mind him in the 2nd round, but I see why his stock is so low.

I wouldn't want Perry Jones. I think Perry Jones is a Tyrus Thomas 2.0. A guy that seems as if he can play SF, but is more likely going to be a PF. Idk, I just don't see a lot of potential in him at the Sf position. I agree with everythign else though. Especially if we were to draft Hamilton with the first pick, then Honeyccutt was gone. Nolan Smith would be a nice pick. I just wonder if he would have the size to play SG in the NBA. He is a heck of a playmaker, you can't take that from him though. I still would love Honeycutt and Hamilton. Draft stocks are sure to take a 180 turn by the time the draft comes along though.

Benson has been double covered and been the main focus on defense all day, he won't be the first option in the NBA, atleast not anytime soon, so he won't have to worry about seeing that type of defense, so I think he'll be even more effective in the NBA, we should def draft him, he needs to add more weight via muscle tho.

Some people are proejecting Benson as an undrafted free agent....at this stage drafting him in the first round would be a bad pick. He has shown he is no a first rounder.
