If Lamebeer and Silas have a place in this draft, Oak definitely does.

I really didn't think anyone would take Mark Jackson for a while. I'm running out of "Droppin Dimes" guys, not that I need one. I wish I could move Cousy to that category now.

I still have about 20 guys left in that cat. Plenty of talent left.

I'm having trouble finding them. I've found one or two decent guys left though.

I'd suggest taking a look at Basketball-Reference. They have just about everything you need for this draft

Checked.

I've been just making each pick by ear. I mean I have a general plan but it doens't involve any more specific names. I got Wilt, J, Cooz, and Earl Monroe off the bench instead of Iverson. I got Paul Silas, which once I researched him made perfect sense as a post defender/glue guy.

Did you know he did all this?

3× NBA Champion (1974, 1976, 1979)
2× NBA All-Star (1972, 1975)
2× NBA All-Defensive First Team (1975–1976)
3× NBA All-Defensive Second Team (1971–1973)

I didn't know he was this good until the competition. His stat line reminds me of a less athletic but more skilled (and overall far better) Crash.

from everything i've read about silas he was an enforcer in the paint and had an amazing nose for the ball, tremendous rebounder, played bigger than his size. was tough, smart, great teammate. perfect bulldog to have on your bench in the playoffs.

Silas? Just take a look at the Bobcats bench and see who is in charge there. I think you'll find that holds true on the court as well ;)

this next pick is well worth the wait... i had to go ahead and snatch my boy up now because i would be super angry if any of you beat me to him.

lafayette "fat" lever - for the lockdown category

fat was one of the best combo guards of the 80s. he could play both point and shooting guard at an all-star level. fat was the main cog in the high octane motion offense nuggets teams from the mid-late 80s. tutored under tr dunn, fat become the best rebounding guard of his era, peaking with a 9.3 rebounds per game average in 1988. fat also averaged over 2 steals per game for 6 straight seasons. he had an amazing nose for the ball, with super quick hands and a lightning fast first step. offensively his game featured a solid mid range game, floaters and runners and a true master of the motion offense. defensively he was a blur getting his hands on everything.

sadly, fat's peak years ended prematurely when he ripped up both his knees in back to back seasons.

fat will be perfect as guard depth for my team since he can provide lockdown defense, passing and offense from both guard spots.

best season
88-89: 19.8ppg, 9.3rpg, 7.9apg, 2.7spg

thanks to lamar you can enjoy this amazing youtube clip of fat's ridiculous performance against michael jordan - 31pts, 16rbs, 12ast, 9stls

sit back and enjoy the man who was my idol growing up

Same here, I was going to take him instead of Sprewell just to stir you up.

I had a crappy old NBA game on the Sega Megadrive I used to play all the time and I remember playing as Dallas. I used to drive in with Fat Lever and attempt a close shot. Quite often he would miss but would somehow get the offensive rebound even though he was surrounded by taller players. That's what made me first wonder who is this Lafayette Lever ??

Honestly I thought about picking Fat Lever, but it would have been too evil.

BTW, probably the best tribute to all of the vintage players we're picking in this scavenger draft.
