1) Gerald Henderson and the 9th pick to the Celtics for Gerald Wallace and the 6th pick (Vonleh)

And

2) Cody Zeller to the Timberwolves for the 13th pick (Hood)

Kemba/Free Agent
Hood/Taylor/Neal
MKG/Wallace
Vonleh/McRoberts
Jefferson/Biyombo

I'm not in love with the Zeller trade, but I think that's the best we could do if we were to trade him this year for a pick.

I wouldn't do #1. I think we'd be happy enough with McD, Nik, or LaVine at #9. I'd do that and plenty more if Exum dropped that far though.

I would jump on any Zeller deal that got us a top 17-ish pick. Doesn't need to be Rodney Hood, I'd take that deal for James Young, Napier, Kyle Anderson, any of the McD/Nik/Lavine group that falls...

I'm really high on Vonleh. He and MKG would grow into the best defensive/rebounding duo at forward in the league and it wouldn't be close imo. He has freakish measurements, is a good athlete, and works hard to get better. All he lacks is confidence, much like MKG. And I think they would help each other in that regard.

I had Hendo to CLE straight up for Jack in my Hendo thread trade ideas, but I would do your suggestion as well, to save $ on the 24 pick for a comparable 33 pick, though that def takes guys like Payton, Hairston & Payne out of the picture for their fans.
Hendo to CLE for Jarrett Jack
Jack didn't work out this year in CLE. It doesn't look like he's a good fit behind Kyrie Irving. CHA would not be getting a SG in return for Hendo. But we have CDR and Neal at SG now, and most fans calling for the team to draft a young shooter in the draft. Yet PG is a desperate need. Ridnour should be out the door based on his play here. Enter Jack, a combo guard, scorer, with good size for the position who could back up Kemba and play alongside him, much in the same manner that Ramon did (well, hopefully with some more passes thrown in). Jack, at $6.3 for 3 more years, is a match contract wise, and at 33 by contract end should not turn into lost money.

I would not be interested. Rather draft a SG at 24 and let Haywood just expire than take on that contract to add to hendo.

Hiya.

Personally, I'd pass. My hunch is we'll pick up a shooting wing via FA over the summer (perhaps someone like Ariza) and there will be a lot of talent left at 24 in this year's draft.

What about the added incentive of Tomas Satoransky. He is a 22 y/o 6'6 combo guard with NBA athleticism. A lot of us on the Wiz board would really like him to come over from Europe as a 3rd guard, but he does not seem overly happy that Wall got the Max and there was our fallout with his friend Jan Vesely. His contract just ended and is free to come over this year...

Either that or your 2015 1st with protection could substitute...

I wonder if they will go for it?

Post#468 » by UNCNYC » Sat Jun 14, 2014 3:08 am

Hmmm I got an idea that MIGHT work. What about the 9th pick AND 45th in this years draft for HARDAWAY JR and a future 1st rounder?

We get Hardaway JR

24th we get FAIR, GR3 OR WARREN

Hardaway Jr is not worth the 9 much less it and the 45.

UNCNYC - welcome to the board. that being said, please check the front-page or the index of threads (stickied) before creating a new thread. stuff like this belongs in either the fake trade thread or the build your team thread, not a new thread.

thanks in advance for helping us keep the board nice a tidy.

merging this with the fake trade thanks.

I am in total disagreement with that proposal. Hardaway Jr. is probably worth the #24 pick but definitely not #9.

no worries. you'll find we are a tad anal about merging threads, but the index thread has links all the good threads you'll ever need.

Nah, they wouldn't, but the 9th pick is too much also.

I think it could be a good move. Hardaway is still young with room to grow. He probably will never be an allstar but he should be a solid player on a roster. He is an upgrade to Henderson.

Kemba
Hardaway ( who is pretty decent with room to grow )
MKG
McRoberts
Jefferson

plus we keep 24. (and maybe trade the 24th pick in this draft and trade down to 33-35)

We pick up a future 1st rounder for the 45th pick. So basically its Nik Stau for Hardaway straight up. Then a future 1st for the 45th pick. And with Hardaway he is already proven to at least not be a bust and a solid contributor.

something to ponder

Good kid and all, but Knicks fans are enamored with him. Im not even sure NY would give up the 9th pick for him. The backlash would be insane, and Im not sure Jackson is ready for all of that.

That being said if we were to trade the 9th pick for him I would light myself on fire.

Lmao I hear ya. The Knick fans love him. He is the kind of player you love on your team. I am happy with Nik S if we take him tho. I woudnt mind drafting Wiggins. He is so talented, but Nik S wil be a fun player to have on the team. For some reason I see Cho taking Mcbuckets tho. He seems like his type of player
