Too bad the nba draft isn't like the NFL where teams will give up everything to move up just a few spots.

This is the deal, we get Miller at 3 and New Orleans sends us one of their good future picks.

100% if we can turn Rozier, #2 and #27 into Simons, #3 and #14/future first I'd be ecstatic.

A little more hesitant if it is Hayward's expiring but still interested as Simons has a very similar contract to Rozier, same length, slightly more money and more guaranteed in the last year.

Simons is basically a 24 year old version of Rozier on a near-identical contract.

lmao Simons is a LOT better than Rozier

Sigh. Never mind.

He held SGA hostage to extract value when he wanted Miles. Not completely unprecedented.

If the Pelicans are desperately trying to move up to take Scoot Henderson, then we should just take....Scoot Henderson

I would only take Zion, Daniels, and 14 for 2 and Rozier/Hayward

If they were desperately moving up to take Amen Thompson, should we take Amen Thompson?

I am starting to get 2012 vibes where a bunch of teams were looking to trade up to get Beal and we ended up keeping the pick to take MKG....imagine if we trade the pick for Harden.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

The 3-way between Portland, NOP and us makes more sense.

Zion would be totally untouchable if he were ever healthy. If they're giving up on him, that isn't a good thing.

Ingram gets hurt almost as often too.

Their best trade pieces aren't that valuable to me.

I don't think Simons is a lot better than Rozier, he doesn't play defense either. They're pretty similar players, Simons just bombs more 3's.

But 3 + Simons + other stuff is obviously a good trade for #2.

If Simons is the price to move down to 3 I'll be the first one to be all in on Miller

I’d rather draft Scoot or trade him for a big package with NO—Ingram, #14 and shipping out Hayward or trade for Zion and more picks (too much risk even though the upside is more) than Brandon Miller. However if we take Miller we do need to trade down to 3. If we are 100% sold on Miller I want the front office to call the Blazers and tell them give us Simons for the 3rd or else we trade it #2 rights to the highest bidder. If we stay at 2 and take Miller than we have the dumbest front office ever—because he will be there at 3 and we can force a trade with Portland.

I don't like your big package because Ingram is injury plagued, if not 2 for Simons + 3, then I'd prefer Jabari Smith + 4 for the 2nd pick.

Imagine taking Miller then watching Portland net a haul from NOLA one pick later. They'll be laughing at us for years.

I'd rather make it a three-way with Portland to get the #3 pick back. But I'm worried our FO trades for Zion or Ingram straight up just to get to the playoffs ASAP. I hope we get some young players or picks back at least if we don't get Portland involved.

Mitch Kupchak is presently in charge of basketball operations in Charlotte. Kupchak selected Ingram with the 2nd overall pick when he was general manager of the Lakers.

Do not underestimate the sell of Kinston, NC born and Duke product Brandon Ingram returning to his home state. The Hornets may be in unique position to secure long term commitment from Ingram due to this.

Mike Schmitz, now assistant GM in Portland, was one of Ingram’s biggest fans in the pre-draft cycle and has repeatedly touted Ingram as the best player in his class. There may be sufficient interest from Portland to work something out.

Not gonna lie I was watching Zion highlights earlier and this dude is a game changer when he plays. If somehow he could get healthy with us we would have flipped our entire franchise around over night. Im thinking a change of scenery is what he need and being closer to home might help him on and off the court. He already has a relationship with MJ.

Im at the point that I would gamble on trading for Zion.

I expect more leaks to come out with us being all in on Scoot in the coming days.

Seriously doubt I’d do a deal for Zion, BUT if I did, it would have to include their #14 pick as well. They could have an early 2nd, or maybe our #27, as added compensation. Still a HUGE gamble on our part. BTW, who on this team is going to steer Zion the right direction and keep his head on straight. Melo? Miles? Could be like that chemistry set you got as a kid and blew up mama’s favorite Tupperware.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'm a Blazers fan (coming in peace)

Simons might be Portland's most available trade piece and I'd doubt Portland would trade him
to Charlotte just to get to 2 for they don't have to.

If Charlotte gets the trade they want from the Pelicans, by all means make the trade. Portland
will just take whoever is left there at 3 for they will either get Scoot or the best fit for either
Portland/Charlotte in Miller.

Portland might be happier just drafting Miller for that would save everyone an entire summer
of Damian Lillard trade talk.

The hope would be MJ would get him straight.

He is a Jordan brand athlete so im pretty sure they have some type of relationship. Zion just needs a change of scenery honestly. Maybe being closer to home helps him settle down. He's been the joke of the offseason so im sure he know a lot of eyes are on him moving forward.

I wonder how MJ selling the team impacts this. He may not want to make any major moves before the new owners take over.

If they trade the pick for someone who has barely played 100 games in the last four seasons I'm 100% out.
