Or what do you all normally tip for pizza delivery?

My orders usually range from $20-$35, but I always give a $5 tip regardless.

I can't tell whether that is good or bad anymore. I know it used to be a decent tip, but maybe with inflation it's not that much anymore. How much do you tip, and if you've been a delivery guy, how much do you expect, how much makes you say, "wow, nice!", how much disappoints you, etc.

There's already a delivery charge. They say that isn't the tip, but I say **** them! Plus if you give a 5 dollar tip, that individual is already making 5 dollars that hour. They don't need much more to be rollin in the dough (minimum wage comparatively of course.)

Actually, most delivery men make less than minimum wage because tips are an "assumed" wage that adds on to the base salary. You add fuel expenses to that reduced salary and you can understand the shot puppy look.

Let's say the guy/girl averages $10 an hour, including base wage. Depending on vehicle and mileage drove, subtract $1-5 for gasoline. In some cases, the guy/girl could actually lose money if you don't tip.

People in the service industry are screwed in America. In Europe and Australia, service employees receive higher wages so tips aren't necessary. That's why I'm a generous tipper; if the person is delivering pizzas, he/she probably needs the money more than I do. Besides, tip extra and you'll see results as money is a great motivator.

You don't spend 5 dollars an hour on gasoline, if you do you need to stop delivering pizza in your Hummer. If you deliver 3, just 3 pizzas in an hour at 5 dollar tips that's 15 in just tips, then add on the base wage.

Let's say you deliver three pizzas. You traveled 30 miles to make those three deliveries (in my area, this is very likely). You use 1.5 gallons of gas, which would come out to ~$5.24 at my local price.

If everyone tips $5, you could potentially make $15 an hour. Throw in taxes and that number goes down a bit. If someone declines to tip, your wage goes down more. Throw in the possibility of having an accident, breakdown, and the long-term costs of adding mileage to your vehicle. It's certainly not an easy job.

I don't think it is realistic to deliver only 3 pizzas in 30 miles of driving, also you must add in base wages which you forgot. So even in teh highly unlikely scenario (in most places) of driving 30 miles for only ten pizza deliveries, you'll still get at the very least 15 dollars an hour with 5 dollar tips. That's a lot of money for what is essentially a minimum wage skilled job. Factor in someone not tipping you get down to ten. Still more than I make working in the Lawn and Garden Center at Lowes.

Also many delivery places give you mileage checks. I worked at a place that paid me 35 cents for every mile I drove, more than enough to cover gas in most vehicles and wear and tear.

GameFly finally sent me NBA2K11. I made my player, and he was projected to get drafted by the Heat, and I was like, "woohoo!" Then they projected me to be drafted by Milwaukee, and I was like, "oh, no." Then I actually ended up getting drafted by the Lakers in the second round, and was like, "yes! Kobe is gonna make me a star!" They said I was on pace to make the team through three games. Then in the 4th I messed up, and some scrub kept taking shots and wouldn't let me recover. So, I got cut and see "Wizards" and I'm like, "oh, goddammit." Then I found out it was like the North Dakota Wizards, and I was like, "well, that's not so bad."

I can't hit a shot to save my life. I played NBA2K when it first came out, and shots were a lot easier. So were dribble moves. I shouldn't have to perform a Street Fighter Alpha Combo-Breaker Finisher each time I want to do a simple spin move.
