In my latest mock I have us taking:

#9 = Alec Burks
#19 = Jeremy Tyler
#39 = Reggie Jackson

As long as they pick the best player. I don't want to hear 2 years from now how the cats wanted a player that has turned into a star but silas wanted a 3 point shooter. Higgins is the gm and he will make the final call. Coaches always want who can help them immediately not long term.

I remember Bernie saying similar stuff when faced with dealing #5 + #13 for Chris Paul. I wonder how he feels about that now.

You like Alec Burks over Klay Thompson? I know Higgins has a relationship with Burks, but Thompson fills a lot of needs for this team. Specifically on the shooting side.

Could you give some more info on Jeremy Tyler? I'm not real familiar with him...

I think that Burks is a lot more versatile player who has more dimensions to his game. I also think he has more star power than Klay. I do have Klay going the very next pick to the Bucks @ #10.

Could you give some more info on Jeremy Tyler? I'm not real familiar with him...

Other than being a very good athlete with great measurables, fluidity and size as well as playing overseas directly from high school, I don't know much about him either - but I do know we have a serious lack of size and upside on the roster and he addresses both of those things - so he fits the bill.

Not much positive. He played in a pretty poor league last year and didn't do much.

I have doubts, but he's the right size

Problem is Bismack is not a C. He will be a PF...at C he would get absolutely dominated. At 19 I would be fine with taking a chance on Bismack, but not at 9. I have not seen anything said about Nikola Vucevic...do you have more info on him?

Bismack is as much of a C as Dejuan Blair, Taj Gibson, and Chuck Hayes are.... Furthermore with his 7ft 7 arm-span and his 6-9 hieght, as well as his ridiculous speed and explosiveness (watch his highlights in the World Summit) he could easily be a center.
Niola Vucevic impressed Silas during the bobcats personal workout. He is 6'11 (or 7ft?) averaged 17.1 pts and 10.3 rpg for USC, like most euro bigmen he has a good 3 ball and averaged just below 35% (34.9). He has a good mid-range game and is a good free-throw shooter. He isnt a great or even good defender as he averaged 1.7 blocks a game for USC. He weighs 262 pounds, meaning he can use his size and wieght in the post. He is not an great athlete but his mid-3pnt game makes up for it. In the euro leagues he was a good matchup against Donatas, and outplayed him several times...... However Donatas is a better "athlete".

Sounds like someone doesn't watch much college basketball. He played for USC.

I didn't follow college basketball at all this year. Can this kid play? Judging by comparisons made on DX he looks like another soft euro 7footer

Arvidas Sabonis wasn't soft. however, he was almost 10feet tall and looked like a grizzly bear.

Marc Gasol isn't exactly Shaquille Oneil, but I wouldn't exactly say that he is soft either.
