His agent is probably salivating right now after Meeks got 6 per and Avery Bradley got 8 per. To be honest I would rather just sit out this free agency ordeal than overpay like an idiot. Thats probably why were more interested in trades than just signing someone outright.

No matter how many lockouts the NBA has, it always gets worse.

I'd rather get assets for Lin and trade for need than blow it all this offseason.

Would have to be an hell out of an asset to take on an 8 million dollar contract for a backup, and I seriously doubt Houston would throw in Parsons. Terrence Jones maybe? Thats probably as much wishful thinking or more than Parsons

Charlotte trades Gary Neal for Lin+NOP first+rights to Capela.

Great but expensive trade, the first has crazy restrictions but Capela will hold value and won't take a roster spot or cap.

Hayward only shot 30% from 3 last year though without Jefferson getting him open shots. Getting them two reunited would be incredible, but if we offered him a max deal id be royally pissed off.

And he shot a much higher percentage the year before with Jefferson.

Stop, you're making me horny with that kind of trade. That would be amazing.

Yes sir. Shot close to 42% from 3 with Jefferson. 30% without him

That my friends is not a coincidence. If anything thats why we need to surround Jefferson with legit shooters.

Too much information LP!

It makes sense imo, Houston gets the cheap, backup PG and SG they need, who will space the floor and is expiring.

They save 5m+ in salary for this trade that will free up the required space for Melo or Lebron.

We get our backup PG who can play a little SG, who is expiring, essentially filling a need by gaining assets.

Lin, Parsons, and McBob would be a good off season IMHO. Would rather have that than Lance.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I agree. Houston has to let go of Lin regardless since he literally flipped out seeing Carmelos head on top of his jersey number hung outside the arena or whatever it was yesterday.

I normally like the way Cho works all calculated and quietly but I would at least like to hear of some meetings with players.

I actually rather not. I like it this way. This time of the year is crazy and full of false reports that help the agendas of the agents. The less we hear about the players we are pursuing, the less there are chances for agents to exploit reporters and put out false reports about various teams being interested in said player to drive his salary up.

Until I know more about Hayward I don't want Lance. I do not want both because I feel that is more than we need. The only smart way I can see to get both is convince Utah to take Henderson and Zeller off our hands and then we can resign McRoberts with these two if they are under reasonable contracts. We are too deep with project PFs and Lance/MKG/Hayward make sense as a three wing rotation. One good offensive player one good defensive player and one good all round guy.

Maybe Tricky Ricky was right and we do not want Lance?

I at least want a meeting so they can interview and evaluate away from all the chatter. Lance still represents the best talent available. If this grumbling gets his price lower good for us.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Much rather take a risk on Lance and his head-case potential at 10-12 million than give Hayward the max while sending out assets to boot. It's very surprising to hear basically nothing about a meeting. I'd say he's at least worth a chat if only to kick the tires. If Miami implodes and we steal Lance away from Indy at 10 million Charlotte would be well positioned moving forward in a wide open conference.

I hate to bust anyone's bubble, but those in here talking about trading for Jeremy Lin do realize it's not 8 million you're eating right? It's 15 Million. It'd have to be more than one 1st rounder for me to eat that salary.

Lin gets 15 million, but only counts 8 mill against the cap.

For Jordan's sanity I wouldn't want for him to eat $15mil even if it is just 8 against the cap.

On topic tho we need to start going after Stephenson or we can go into next season as we are. No need to overpay for none of these extra regular ass players just because got a little bread to spend.

Lin automatically creates you money in the Chinese market to help offset that $15 mil,

If Lin create at least a extra 7 mil a year from the Chinese market then every team should want him so they can try to re-sign him afterwards for the extra marketing money he generate.
