Man. Whoever was on the receiving end of that two handed block by Richards won't soon forget it. Made him look bad. Very bad.

Big Vern with a very unflattering stat line in the game that is in process - https://gleague.nba.com/games/20210223/GBORGV/

Richards playing much better.

Yeah I'm looking at the box score after the game...11 minutes? Did he get hurt or something?

Thriller finally had himself a game:

28/2/4 + 3 steals and 1 block!

Shot 10-15 including 6-8 from three and 1-1 from the line.

The Swarm are 4-9, so we will get Richards and Carey back after the All-Star break. One of those two has to be in the rotation. We cannot go on with Biyombo getting all the backup minutes at center.

Richards has the better defensive instincts...and he's really tall, so I expect him to get some minutes. Carey can't be trusted to gain a net positive. He's still way too lost on defense.

Richards has been shooting from3 a bit as well. Carney strikes me as another Jahlil Okafor.

Richards also has some potential chemistry with PJ in the frontcourt. I could see Richards having Washington beside him helping him acclimate a bit more than other players.

Also, Monk has made a distinct effort to get Richards the ball. They are not quite on the same page yet, but getting there.

Vernon Carey Jr is averaging 17.4pts and 9.3rpg in the G League. At what point do we give him a shot? Surely he can't be any worse than Biz is out there at times.

Yep. Neither here nor there due to such teensy weensy minutes, but found it interesting that amongst NBA centers, Carey is, by far, the worst in terms of Defensive Rating (by far, at 57.1) and - a little surprisingly - Richards is third worst.

Announcers during today's game:

"The Swarm have given up ten 3s, maybe they should move away from this zone."

"I would love if the Swarm got out of this zone... the Mad Ants have figured it out."

Also sounds like we should have Johnny Flynn on our roster.

He’d fit right in on defence.

Thats a name I haven't heard in a bit. **** throw him in we will run Flynn-Monk-LaMelo-Rozier-Hayward. Abandon defense embrace offense.
