Wiggins didn't overtly impress me today. He looks like a good player but he didn't exactly blow me away.

I'm not sold on McLemore's smarts just yet.

Do you see the Smith comparison SWedd?

I've seen him make enough plays in the fast break/half court and on defense to know he has a good BBIQ

Minus the giving a chit on defense and rebounds though.

Yeah, McLemore always plays very head up and conscious of ball movement. At times he seems a little too passive but definitely not Boris Diaw levels AFAICT.

Bennett being more jumper happy invariably takes him away from the rim and some rebounds, but he seems to be relatively similar to Robinson in terms of effort and ability (when he gets down low). I've only seen him twice though so my sample size is small.

And I personally never was very high on Robinson's defensive ability last year. He may have given more effort but neither one is really what you'd call a stopper

It's not that Bennett isn't a good rebounder, it's just his motor is really low and he mostly lets them come to him. And he plays like an AAU player on transition D, virtually the anti-MKG. He's really polarizing to me but he's definitely a top 5 pick right now.

I think hes a much better athlete than Robinson, though.

If Anthony Bennett is Thomas Robinson with better range then that's exactly what we need, a player that can stretch the floor. Imagine if Bennett was getting the shots that Warrick gets. Minus the pump fake, jab step, pump fake, that's 20 points easily.

They're different kinds of athletes a bit. Bennett is athletic in a Zach Randolph sense in that he can rise vertically straight up so quickly and dunk it. Robinson is a better athlete in the traditional sense in that he's quick and got hops but he needs more of a running start to get off the floor. I wouldn't say that Bennett has amazing hops or speed (deceptively quick though) but it takes him no time to dunk it with those long arms.

Nothing like Mully because Bennett can actually shoot 3's but he doesn't necessarily camp out there. Also, Mully was kind of useful offensively last season in Silas' system when he was shooting midrange jumpers instead of 3's.

Bennett can hit 3's throw down a sledge hammer, and hit a midrange shot. If Mullens had half of his athleticism he would be unstoppable.

I'm about to take a thorough look at Anthony Bennett as his UNLV squad take on Air Force at 10pm tonight. I think Bennett can move into the #2 spot on my draft board over Nerlens Noel who had a very impressive performance today in a loss (15 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assist, 7 blocks, 4 steals, zero turnovers, and only 1 personal foul) with one of his own.

BTW for all of the Ben McLemore enthusiasts, he looked like utter trash today.

Tell LMA that.

Thanks for the reminder.

I'm not sure if Bennett can hit the NBA 3 but I doubt it would take much of an adjustment, his form looks pretty good.

You seem to be really overrating Benett's athleticism. Mully can do literally all of those things as well and is a true 7 footer instead of a 6'7 guy. He's also pretty damn athletic himself. Much more so than he's give credit for
