Wiseman wants to go to the Hornets or Warriors so if Hornets want him, they will have to trade to 1

lol for what

the gap between wiseman and the rest of this board isn't that significant. we could take toppin at #3 and get away with it

Toppin is a power forward, same as Pj Washington.

Hornets need a center as the only one on their team is Cody Zeller and he is an expiring.

hornets need everything  bpa is bpa

In fairness Unfadeable21 has no way to know just how laughable Rick Bonnell is.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

there is a zero percent chance the hornets would fall in love with a player at 3 with the very real possibly he will not be available, then go around telling anyone that will listen that this is the player they want. HEY, everyone we really love Wiseman please extort us for multiple first round picks for the pleasure of drafting him. we may like him, but this is a clearly a smoke screen

I thought about this and I agree. At the same time, he now knows. He's getting mauled in here so it's time for the carpetbagger to pack it up.

Weren’t you adamant last week that what a Warriors beat writer was publishing was gospel?

Does that make the Warriors stupid? For compromising their leverage by feeding a beat writer intel?

Me speculating:

Wolves- deciding between Edwards and Ball.

Wiseman not participating in things with them because his team doesn’t like the fit next to Kat. Also Rosas is a BPA guy so I don’t think Ball/Russell fit matters much to him.

Warriors- think they are smoke screening for Ball.

Wiseman doesn’t make much sense since they never value centers and Edwards doesn’t really fit their style as much as high IQ/cutting/passing style as well as Deni. Preferred guy Lamelo/Backup plan Deni.

Hornets- think we are taking one of Ball/Edwards/ Wiseman.

Think we are a fan of Wiseman, but also see this as a smokescreen for somebody like Bulls to not trade up ahead of us for Ball or Edwards. I’m sure Warriors would be fine taking Deni at 4 in this scenario to get extra assets and put less pressure/expectations on Deni to prove he wasn’t a reach.

Personally I think this is a 3.5 player draft depending on who you talk to. Most teams I feel have a combo of Ball/Edwards/Wiseman/Deni in their top three.

The Warriors beat writer DID claim team sources when he reported the Warriors are not high on Wiseman. Totally different source citation than Bonnell.

If his offence doesn't develop at all Wiseman’s floor is Tyson Chandler/Mitch Robinson.

idk if I'd call that a floor, since Chandler was a DPOY and an all-star. But your point stands and is a significant reason why I have Wiseman so far above the rest of the class. I see no way he fails to be at least a decent starter.

FWIW I agree that his floor is a starting NBA center.

I just don't think his ceiling is much higher than 10th best 5 in the league.

No offense, but we don't need you coming over here telling us what our needs are or who Bonnell is or what he said. We've got that covered.

Was your thought that this proves that we are unaware that we need a center or that Cody is expiring?

Well, it's a flat draft at the top, so maybe it won't cost that much to move from 3 to 1 if that's indeed what is happening. I doubt Charlotte, in their negotiations, are willing to part with anything of real consequence.

Zeller, Bridges, #32 could be in play. But just a feel for this...less than a 20% chance something goes down.

Wiseman wants to go to the Hornets or Warriors so if Hornets want him, they will have to trade to 1

Why? That’s assuming the Warriors would draft Wiseman at #2, and that’s far from a lock.

Hell, it’s no lock the Warriors even select at #2.

It’s just as possible another team trades up to #2 to select Edwards or Ball and then Wiseman is sitting there for us at #3.

Your logic of Charlotte HAVING to trade up to #1 is beyond flawed.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If the Warriors pick at #2 and Wiseman is on the board no way in hell they pass on him. If you want Wiseman you do have to trade up to #1. I personally think he's going to be great and I hope the Wolves draft him despite him not wanting to come here.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
