The NY Post rocking dark puns:
"The one-and-done Alabama star’s involvement in the murder of a 23-year-old woman — in which he was never charged, but was connected to the accused — isn’t expected to be enough to dissuade general manager Mitch Kupchak and company from pulling the trigger."

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
I'd be excited about adding to the current roster a 6'9 SG who has a quick, high shooting release and can defend tall wings.
A potential Lamelo-Brandon-Miles-PJ-Mark lineup, with 4 good 3 pt shooters, multiple guys who can work the pnr and switch defensively, seems like a modern, supersized and versatile line-up with a long runway.

I don't even think Orenthal James Simpson would be enough to dissuade our franchise

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
Anthony Davis and Brandon Miller are the only freshman players to win SEC Player of The Year.
Lost in all this talk was Brandon Miller was the best player in college basketball on the #1 team.
He fell off in the tournament because of a groin injury. If he wasn't injured there is no doubt in my mind Alabama wins the Nat'l championship.

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
I don’t know. Eventually they would have played a top 50 team and then according to stats he would have struggled and as people in support of him here have said he carried a terrible offensive team.
So we can’t have it both ways. It can’t be that he struggled because good teams could focus on him and his team couldn’t help and if he was healthy late he would have beaten all the good teams because they were a great team.

Half of the games that are pointed out him struggling against were after he was hurt.
Like if you want to say he struggled vs UNC, Texas A&M first time, Houston then go for it. but you can't count SDSU, Tx A&M and Maryland against him twice.
So he struggled 3 times in his first 33 games played. That is why people are freaking out lol. 9% of games
Then struggled in his next 4 post injury.
3 games all year, vs 4 consecutive in a row after getting hurt. Probably should count them all the same huh? Really tho?

Most of those games were after his groin injury.
You know the same groin injury that cost CP3 the rest of the series vs the Nuggets?
I love Miller even more for playing with that injury. It shows me how much he loves the game. Im not sure most college players would attempt to play with a injured groin.
I had a groin injury my senior season my last game before the state championship. I had to sit out that game and it took me 3 months just to get back walking without pain. Groin injuries are a big deal even if it's just a minor tear.

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
I'm still confused why anyone would point out a players struggles in certain games instead of judging them by the totality of a season. Jayson Tatum was horrible against teams like Elon and Maine his lone year at Duke and I don't recall anyone bringing that up

I will definitely let Miller slide for two of his struggles. One against Leaky Black, and the other against Andre Jackson. Noone EVER looks good against those two.

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
If we draft Miller, do you think the braintrust is seeing him more as an oversized SG or SF? I know he's pegged as a wing, but the thought of a 6'9" 2-guard that plays good defense is pretty tantalizing. It's equally as exciting for me as a hyper-athletic small guard that does really well what LaMelo struggles with.

I definitely want Miller but his tape against quick guards is not promising. Perimeter defense on ISO sees Brandon struggle to react quickly enough. He will get better, but I’d be surprised if improved enough for NBA guards.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

This seems the only place I'm seeing that thinks he can be a two guard. In fact, I am seeing more people say he is gonna be a 4 once he puts on more weight.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Re: The Brandon Miller Thread
I still think Miller is a weapon off the bench. Don't see why people don't put stock into bench players value when a championship has NEVER been won without a good bench player/good bench production.
I like being able to bring him off the bench at ANY position.

He was the best player in college basketball. Labeling him as a bench player is just disrespecting his talent.
He's the prototypical wing. He will find a place as a starter on most teams.

I am not labeling him as a bench player I am suggesting where I think he serves the best purpose. Titles don't often show the value of what someone or something ads. You can be a bench player and be the best player on your team. The reason I like him off the bench is because imo he does bring so much to the table that having a guy who can come in and potentially change the whole scheme is interesting to me

We a long way from a title. I would love to be a consistent playoff team first.
Only way I see Miller as a piece off the bench is if he is on a loaded roster. We just don't have enough talent for him to come off the bench imo.

I'm prolly the only person in the world who thinks we might not be that far from a TITLE if we can remain healthy. But even if we are far away *not saying you dont* but I always focus more on the big picture. So if I saw fit and was building a team I would try to fit the puzzle together whether I started top to bottom or vice versa. Only a few players in B-ball are really needed to compete and imo we have 2 near allstart (3 if hayward decides to stay healthy) and with a deep draft and maybe just one assett (if that) we right there...

Yeah I don't see that. We have 2 allstar caliber players and we can't even make the playoffs. If we were close to legit we would have made the playoffs the past 2 years.
I think we are in the process of building quality talent. The #2 pick helps a lot. If we add Miller or Scoot we are on our way to a playoff appearance at least.

1 of those players BARELY played due to us resting him / and him being injured and the other had a domestic case, and the year prior we were right there in the playin game. With a roster that was ailing. Either way just opinions here. No right or wrongs
