If the trade is just Al for Wallace and 16 then it is a good deal. I would much rather have Wallace, Booker/Hezonja/Johnson and Grant/Oubre/Payne than Al and Booker/Hezonja/Johnson.

Yep, its all about the pick. Gerald is just a salary match. Its basically Al for 16. I'd be thrilled to get that for Al.

Thrilled? I'd require mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

I probably wouldn't trade back just for Crash, but I'm not opposed to moving back to 16 if we can get a future pick or prospect. After the top 9 are off the board I think the next two bigs (Kaminsky, Turner) are gone, as will Payne. Which means at least one of Booker, Oubre, Hunter, and Grant will be available at 16.

I would trade Al for Crash and the 28th, forget 16

This would be far more realistic...no way the Celtics give up 16 for Big Al

I would do this too but if Boston can't trade up for WCS or don't want to give the asking price of moving up from 16 to mid lottery then I think they'll do Crash and 16 for Al and 39. They can then trade 28 to Philly for 35 and 37. Then use 33, 35, 37 , 39 and 45 to move up to get 2 of Dallas , Chicago and Memphis 1st and draft Upshaw and RHJ. They still get their plan b targets and turn a negative expiring into a positive one at a position of need. We draft Booker (if we don't draft him at 9 he slides imo and whoever is left of Hezonja, Winslow , or Johnson we draft at 9.

Building on the Jefferson to Bucks idea…

Big Al for Mayo + Bayless.

We free up 2.5 million in the deal.

I don't think Boston would take Al. They already have one fat, infury-prone, overrated big man in Sullinger already.

The Bucks, though. They are clearly in the market for a center and if they strike out on Chandler/Lopez then they could be interested in Al. If all they had to give up was Mayo and Bayless, it might be hard to resist.

Kemba/Bayless/Roberts
Mayo/draft pick/Daniels
MKG/Hendo/Hairston
Zeller/Vonleh/Marv
Biz/Hawes

Lets say the Jazz offer 12 and a future 1st for 9

Post#532 » by Catchall » Wed Jun 17, 2015 5:33 am

Jazz fan here. Would you be interested in #12 in this draft plus a future 1st-rd pick from the Jazz to trade #9? What might you be looking for to move back 3 spots?

If Hezonja is off the board and no one else falls then I would definitely be interested in moving back to 12 for a future pick if we are sure we can get one of Oubre/Booker 12. Who do you think the Jazz would be targeting at 9?

If the protection on the pick isn't that great, aka it doesn't take 5 years for us to get it I'd do it.

I don't know what the Jazz are thinking (obviously), but I would guess Turner, Oubre and Johnson are all attractive to the Jazz. One of them is very likely to be there at 12 anyway, but the idea would be to move up a few spots and take their favorite of those three players. I suppose Kaminsky could be in play too. The Jazz have some extra picks--their own, one from the Warriors unprotected in 2017, and one from OKC in 2018.

Would Milwaukee be desperate enough for a center that they'd also give up their first? Al + Pj + 39 for Mayo + Bayless + 17. We could take BPA at 9 instead of reaching for a shooter and taking Hunter/Grant/Dekker at 17. We could even just take two shooters with the picks to give us an extra shot at finding a game changing 3pt threat.

Just think, if you had let Hood fall to us last year and not matched on Hayward, the 9 pick would have been yours. Too late now. Sucks to be you.

Hezonja, Johnson, and Winslow would have to be off the board at 9. There is an enormous dropoff after that and it's worth getting one of them at all costs.

Give us Gordon and maybe we'll consider it.
