Yeah and get put in a body bag.

I was writing partly in jest, but you might want to ask Armando Bacot about that. As for age, Tyler is a full year younger than LeBron James, with a lot fewer miles on the legs.
I was just joking...but here's me arguing why he could do it.

If the Pacers are serious about trading Turner he really would be a good fit here.

Washington, Hayward, Carey, Richards, Bouknight, and 4 future first round picks for Sabonis and Turner?

If the Pacers are serious about a rebuild, this package offers them a veteran glue piece. balance, great prospects, and draft picks.

And it’s obvious why/how this would help the Hornets…

Why would we want 2 players who've shown they can't really play together? Pick one or the other, we don't need both.

The analytics guys love Turner much more than Sabonis, and Pacers fans think so too and would rather rid themselves of Sabonis. I don't see it. He is PJ Washington with shot blocking in my eyes. But they know their team I guess.

if PJ could provide top 5 interior D and rim protection then he'd be an incredible prospect

Yeah that was kind of my reaction. If you take current PJ, stretch him to Myles's length and give him his defensive instincts and talent...I mean that's like an All NBA caliber player.

If PJ were 2 inches taller he'd be exactly what we're looking for. Unfortunately, he's built more like a PF/SF than a PF/C.

Our best option now is probably Richards development. He's been decent so far, maybe he can figure it out enough to platoon with Plumlee.

Excellent article and analysis. Posted also on fake trade thread as it makes an excellent case FOR Turner’s fit on our team.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I still prefer sabonis but I'd be happy to land either for right price.

But clearly one needs to go. Both ain't working.

What - a 6'9" C who takes more than 50% of his FGA's from beyond the three point line?

Might be exactly what you are looking for, but not me!!

And hits them at 45% like PJ is now? Hell yeah.

Doesn't even compute how you could not like that. Ideal spacing.

In 6 games over Nov he hit them at a 63% clip.

In the other 8 games played in Oct and Dec he's hit them at a 28% and 31% clip.

Those 6 games in Nov has SERIOUSLY skewed that percentage to be 44%.

And I want my bigs to be big and play big - not to play as a wing.

It honestly doesn't matter if he's 44% or 38% (which PJ hit the last two seasons), what matters is if he can drag opposing bigs out of the lane.

Is there something about our offense that makes you think we'd be better suited having opposing bigs camped in the lane? We need literally zero help offensively, but a big that demands attention on the perimeter would only help what we're doing.

Yes - because when the long range bombs aren't dropping you need something else to go to.

..but a big that demands attention on the perimeter would only help what we're doing.

But doesn't help us on D.

I'd take either one but what would we give up to make it happen? Turner would help our defense tremendously, Sabonis would make us one of the best offensive teams in the league, imo.

Even in today’s NBA, defense matters…but especially in the playoffs. We are weak there now. Turner would be a backstop for excessive penetration while helping to seal out offensive rebounders.

The rest of the league understands how valuable Turner would be on their team, so we probably won’t have enough ammo to make a swap. Hayward for Turner is a deal we might have been able to make this past offseason, but not during a bidding war. This off-season Indiana was thinking they were still a player or two away from a big jump. Today they are ready to rebuild. Gordo is a bit old for rebuilds. He does have value as a favorite son of the state, and is a great face of the franchise guy they could use to buffer a transition. That would be part of my pitch.

I don't see Indiana having any interest in Hayward if they're blowing it up and rebuilding

Oubre, PJ and the New Orleans picks for Turner?

Oubre's been awesome this year, I'll be honest I think I'd rather trade Hayward over Oubre
