Kon Air for me.

Because Wrath of Kon is the perfect name for the second Knueppel thread.

Speaking of a second Knueppel he apparently has a younger brother, Kager, who is an even better prospect than he is.

His Dad, Mom, and uncles all played college basketball as well. His Mom, Chari Nordgaard, was apparently really good. She's the all-time leading scorer and rebounder at UW-Green Bay.

That was about as bad of a debut as he possibly could’ve had. Even went 3-6 on FTs.

I’ll wait until tomorrow to fully judge, but this was an absolutely horrendous performance.

Obviously he was tight and the shot wasn't falling. That won't be the norm so hopefully things get better for now on.

Yes he was feeling the pressure. All the interviews and attention from being pick 4. It showed in his FT shooting, which is much better than 50%. I suspect this season will be a big learning experience for Kon. He’s not ready to contribute significant minutes like some high picks. His slowish lateral speed hurts at this level. He’s smart, will get better, but we’re likely going to moan as we see Ace and Tre shine, saying, again, “what if….?”
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

that was rough...
looked anxious all game. gave me ammo vibes, nervous energy. Contrast that with Liam who incredibly comfortable and confident all night.
Was a little surprised they spent so much time with him playing decoy in the corner. Thought we'd see a few more plays run To get the ball in his hands on some secondary action. He did have several nice assists so it wasn't all terrible. I'm not worried about the shot. That will obviously come around. But there were definitely a few areas where the speed of the game just caught him completely off guard on both sides of the ball.

This certainly isn't going to do anything to quiet those were very vocal against drafting him at 4.

I’m very worried. His defense looked so bad. I still think he can be a great off ball offensive player. But wow, 4 pick was insane.

I’d be worried about Buzelis too with how easily Tidjane and Ron Holland were putting up numbers

The difference is Buzelis makes otherworldly athletic plays. Kon looked like a 45 year old rec leaguer with people back dooring him or blowing by him. He was stuck in mud on defense. Hopefully just nerves and affected his confidence.

I don’t give a crap about how a guy does in SL. The guys who are looking really good are the 2nd year guys. Geez, I wonder why that is? Everyone needs to chill and realize they’re not NBA evaluators.

Agreed. It's typically the 2nd year guys who fill up the stat sheet in SL. Suddenly Ron Holland and Reed Sheppard look like world beaters and those guys will usually get shut down after a few games. Happens every year.

Seems suboptimal to be sitting b2b in mid July as a 19 year old for a sprained ankle you suffered in April but idk

Or we doing the “he would have played if it was a game that mattered” thing already

Ace and VJ haven't played all their games either. Seems like it's pretty normal for top picks to only play a couple games these days.
