an all rookie team of 5 point guards would be epic. hopefully kemba will keep improving rapidly and pass knight and shumpert on this list by the end of the year.

Thought yesterday was a pretty good game for him, maybe even better than the triple-double. He's had some bad clunkers since starting (even the Knicks game where he scored 20, I thought he played poorly), but yesterday's 12, 6 and 6 is mitigated by the fact that people continually missed wide, wide, wide open shots off his passes, and that starting Tyrus Thomas at the 3 is a poor line-up to run much of anything (tough when you have a small forward with no perimeter skills). He had one bad hit-ahead pass for a turnover that he left way short, but other than that, he was almost flawless with his decision-making and execution (he had a 15-footer blocked when he didn't count on the ground that Bynum could cover on the contest, but that happens). A good shooting day from his teammates and he might have had 10 or 11 assists and one turnover. He just has to keep building on it and stay with what he's been doing the last couple games - he'll develop more from getting comfortable with running the offense and letting his teammates miss than missing himself (and on the days his teammates are making those shots, he can end up with a nice stat line).

I thought he was better in the 2nd half than he was in the 1st last night.

In the 1st half he was being too passive IMO. He cranked it up in the 2nd though and looked more dangerous.

He is getting better, I feel like the game is starting to slow down for him, too bad most of the time he is out there playing, so are the Big Fats.

5. Kemba Walker
Few rookies have had a more up-and-down season than Walker. He has played his way back into the rankings by filling in ably for the injured D.J. Augustin as the Charlotte Bobcats' starting point guard. Walker has been able to carry over his success in isolation situations from college to the pros, something that some scouts doubted he would be able to do. Walker only gets to the rim on 27.5 percent of his isolation possessions, but he has managed to be efficient all the same by making 50 percent of his pullup jumpers in one-on-one situations.

Walker uses his speed off the dribble to create distance between himself and his defenders. Another key to Walker's success is the quick release on his jump shot. Small guards like Walker only have a brief opportunity to get their shots off before defenders recover and bother their shots. Walker's shot has been quick and accurate of late.

Top 10: Irving Rubio Knight Shumpert Kemba Leuer Morris Leonard Thompson Kanter

The question I would like to ask is, how is Kemba Walker behind Brandon Knight and Iman Shumpert when he's having a better season statistically (points, rebounds, assist, & less turnovers)? :-?

He was probably concentrating too much on being a facilitator in the first half that it went away from his usual aggression.

Once he finds that balance between his normal attacking and keeping team mates involved, good things will happen.

Overall I'm still happy with his progress so far this year.

fun with stats

kemba is averaging 12ppg and shooting 37.3% (not including tonights disaster which will surely put him below 37%.

since the 3pt line was introduced - before this season there had only been 3 players to average 12ppg while shooting less than 37% for a season and to play more than 3 games that season - rex champman, starks, and dejaun wagner.

kemba is on his way to join some very rare company...... and not in a good way.

the only saving grace - he isnt the only one from this year to join that group. maggette, billups, jax and crawford are also on pace. although after tonight crawford will be off that list. he was just a hair under 37%.

kemba is down to 36.3%. on pace to make history.

kemba walker, rex champman, dejuan wagner and john starks, what do they all have in common? epic levels of chucking for an entire season. (12+ppg while shooting less than 37%)

I could live with a John Starks-esque career. What's Ewing, Jr up to these days?

Eastern Conference Championship...?

Wasn't Starks a legit 6'4? Kemba is maybe 5'10.

Twelve-year-old Thomas Boston of Conover is a chatterbox. Even after breaking his arm in a middle-school football practice, he kept cracking jokes to keep his mother calm.

Yet he was strangely shy and coy in a Skype conversation last Friday. Must have been about the other person on the connection.

"He met his rock star," said Boston's father, William.

That rock star - Charlotte Bobcats rookie Kemba Walker - is hosting Thomas and William Boston tonight when the Bobcats play the Los Angeles Clippers. Walker's gesture relates back to that broken arm and the medical complication that followed.

Thomas Boston wanted to take his father to a Bobcats game and saved the money to buy two tickets to the Jan. 14 matchup with the Golden State Warriors. The day of the game, Thomas had a doctor's appointment, because the screw and plate installed to stabilize the fracture appeared infected.

The doctor said the infection was serious enough to operate immediately. Thomas didn't flinch about surgery until he realized it cancelled the trip to see the Bobcats. That's when Thomas became "really emotional," according to his dad, in law enforcement in the Hickory area.

Walker heard about Thomas' misfortune through the Bobcats. So he arranged to buy tickets for the Bostons and to meet them before tonight's game.

"I felt for the kid - just felt like I should do something nice for him," Walker told the Observer. "The kid tried to do something nice for his dad.

"It's always good to give back. I wish I could have had the same thing done for me (as a kid) - to have someone I look up to reach out. I want to be that person - a good guy in the community."

that indy to the windy guy is a prime example of a guy who goes out of his way to badmouth the team. just about every time I see him post it's some derogatory remark about somebody on the team.

the kemba nuthuggers brought this on themselves. if you are going to go on the general board and make ridiculous homer statements about our player, especially when we are losing and the players arent even playing that well, then certainly you have to expect threads like this.

and frankly, a thread discussing kemba's historic inefficient season is completely justified. his fg% is pathetic. there is no excuse. any talk of kemba being anything in the future should be put on hold until he proves he can shoot more efficiently. or else he is destined to be a career backup.

this being said, the bobcats posters here that are defending kemba in that thread are so far on the money and putting up good arguments.
