Some context for people whinging about Cody Zeller's production this past season.
For starters look at how good that Indiana were both offensively and defensively as a team which he led and then check out the individual statistical rankings.
To start In terms of rebounding look at his numbers compared to Trevor Mbakwe who is considered to be a great rebounder by the media/fans/scouts.
In terms of points, blocks, efficiency and rebounding see where he stacks up in an elite conference and superior competition to Bennett who went #1, MAKE SURE you check mpg at the bottom at the end for further context.

Tyler averaged 8 and 6 as a rookie and he is better than him but I also realize whether we bring McBob back or not and whether Cody starts or not they may limit his minutes, nothing Dunlap like but rookies minutes are monitored pretty closely.
I know it is more fun to argue but I'd like to hear some more predictions..
I think Zeller averages 14.5/7.5
While were at it
Walker - 19/7.5
Henderson - 16.5/4
MKG - 13/7
Biyombo - 8/9
I can see that happen, he will at get at least 2 or 3 buckets a game on fastbreaks running the floor, he will go to the FT line some also, he may not even need to hit a lot of jumpers to average this.

I completely agree K2H.
The guy is like a magician with a new trick, just because he's got a fancy new ace up his sleeve it doesn't mean he has forgotten what got him to the big show.

Re: Welcome To The Bobcats: Cody Zeller
if we sign hendo to a big deal and he comes back as the same player he has been the past 2 years (minus the 2 month contract push from last year) ie 14-15ppg and no improvement on 3pt range, handles or passing, we should be furious with him and cho.

What constitutes a big deal?

8-9M.
If he plays like he did in the lockout year, he's still worth the MLE at the very least.

I'd be upset if we paid over 7. I think something like 4/26 would be ideal.

Re: Welcome To The Bobcats: Cody Zeller
I think Henderson should be viewed as a backup plan right now. I want to see us go balls to the wall and attempt to sign our top 5 free agent targets. If we miss on Jefferson and Mayo or whoever than I am fine resigning Hendo to a reasonable deal and going for more a tank season.
BUT........ my first option would be to try and land these guys and make a push for the playoffs while still having a nice core of young guys mixed in with guys in their mid to late 20's. I think as long as we are not signing guys in their 30's to to long contracts we can be considered a young and upcoming team with room for improvement.
This year has much more realistic free agent targets, whereas next year is full of superstars and restricted free agents coming off their rookie deals. This year is a year where many teams are going to be dumping players and simply ignoring free agency to tank, we should capitalize on having fewer teams to compete with these bigger name free agents.

Man Zeller Is so underrated on the GB, Smh.
Dude wasn't used right In college IMO. In a draft where everything Is fair gain, Zeller deserved to go top 5.

My favorite NBA player of all-time: Bobby Jones. I'm hoping Cody Zeller brings the same brand of energy and athleticism to CHA.

I'm all in for Al Jefferson and O.J. Mayo. It's not like we're getting stuck with old players or bad contracts that can't be moved. Those guys would be team leaders, get lots of looks and see their stats rise. If they come here they can raise their profile to scouts around the league. I do not like next year's free agent class at all and I don't think we can rely on one high pick player from 2014 either. We have hedged our bets with the DET and POR picks.

OJ Mayo? a possible team leader? I wouldn't bet a cent on that.

Re: Welcome To The Bobcats: Cody Zeller
If we stand pat in free agency, Zeller can average 15 easy. He'll be the #1 option of offense and a starter.
Depending on minutes, (I'm going to say he gets 26 minutes a game) he'll get around 6 boards.
15/6 is not a bad rookie season for Zeller.

They love to talk trash about the Bobcats, and mock Cho and believe and put Sheridan on a pedestal etc. I will not be listening to that station to say the least.

Aside from Taylor Z, no one on FNZ has any credibility. They're all very painful to listen to.
