I didn't like the idea of a Kemba Walker-Bradley Beal backcourt. It would've been too small. Beal is the type of SG that you need to place alongside a tall PG, at least 6'4". I was Andre Drummond or MKG in that draft. Harrison Barnes was a option too, but I didn't trust his mental makeup & the thought of the Tar Heels alumni staying in North Carolina because it just seemed to gimmicky

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Beal has impressed me so far this season though. But I still wouldn't trade crazy value for his legs. I too had Davis, Drummond, MKG in that order as my top 3, followed by a significant gap then Barnes and Beal.

I was hoping that NOH would fall in love with MKG and draft him and we could get Davis....obviously that didn't happen but im fine with MKG he is probably our 3rd best player behind Al and Kemba and our best defender by miles, i also liked Drummond, he is basically a double double machine that cant hit a FT to save his life now, if MKG would get PT he would average very solid stats probably around 14/8/2 and a block and steal

Beal reminded me of Eric Gordon whom I wasn't never in love with. I figured Beal would be a decent player but a talent easily found in subsequent drafts.

Grizzlies' Front Office 'Aggressively' Suggesting Lineups To Dave Joerger

Dave Joerger is receiving considerable direction from the Memphis Grizzlies' front office, according to sources.

Robert Pera and John Hollinger are strong proponents of advanced statistics.

“They’re suggesting lineups,” said one league source. “Aggressively.”

One scout said, “It looked as if Joerger was trying to put his stamp on them and the players resisted. They were like, ‘The other way worked, so why change?’ I know they wanted to play faster, but they don’t have that kind of team. They grind.”

The Grizzlies won 56 games last season as Lionel Hollins resisted changes from the front office.

With the whole Biyombo/Adrien fiasco going on lately, could Cho & Co. be directing Clifford's rotations based on +/- like coach has indicated as his reasoning in a similar manner as to this Grizzlies rumor?

...but it wouldn't make sense as to why MKG is splitting minutes with Jeff Taylor. There's not an advanced stat that would give Taylor an advantage over MKG, only the raw numbers of 3-point shooting

As far as the Grizzlies go though, makes sense that Hollins wasn't invited back this year. Seems like they weren't going to put up with him for another year and really wanted to use what Hollinger brings to the table.

You know that it was the reason for it but this report makes it even more certain since Hollins is still a great coach.

I wouldn't. I'm not the biggest Gerald Henderson or Jeff Taylor fan, but Dion Waiters is just as frustrating as a player and would be a bad fit size-wise next to Kemba for the long-term. However, Waiters makes for a great combo guard off the bench. If the Bobcats did that deal, then they should consider starting Ben Gordon, allowing Waiters to substitute either guard spot...but I know that they'll never let Gordon back into the fold of things, so "no"

I don't like Waiters at all. Frustrating is the right word to use. Terrible defense, questionable offensive judgement and seemingly an uneasy character.

Moreover, Zach Lowe claims nobody is as bad on transition defense as Waiters is.

The Cavs went into this season with a win-now approach to make a playoff run with youth, hoping to lure LeBron's interest in returning to Cleveland during the offseason's free-agency. It's the sole reason why they drafted 'around' the SF position

Hopefully our FO is instructing Clifford to give certain players burn to improve their value (Taylor) or make them tradeable (Adrien/Tolliver)

If his rotations don't improve I'd hope that our FO "agressively" suggested some lineups for him.

Haha.

I love how dazed Kidd looks while people mop up the floor around him. He looks like he's trying his best at acting nonchalantly and saying to himself "stay cool, Jason, stay cool".

The expression of Lawrence Frank in the background while Kidd's drink gets knocked out of his hands is also funny.
