Speaking of Biz... It seems like the Raptors beat writer isn't fond of him.

I think it's fair to say that Biyombo is nowhere near the player Valanciunas is. One of the perennial problems in Toronto is that the guards do not always incorporate Jonas into the offense. When they do, good things happen.

Lamar strikes gold, interviews 80s Nuggets legend Bill Hanzlik. Only 13 minutes, man, I hope you can get him on again some time. He could give you another 30 minutes just from the time he was a Hornets assistant under Allan Bristow. And then another 30 minutes on more Lever/English questions. :)

I know.. The opportunities here are endless. I didn't even get to fully explore him playing center, would have loved to talk more about that as I find it fascinating. I saw the stint with the Hornets on his resume while doing research, but, yeah, had no time for that in such a short conversation.

You'd think Canadian Bonnell would be a little more laid back.

certain that this will rile up Fats.

Larry Brown wrote:“I’m sick of what’s going on there,” Brown said, who’s hopeful that old friend Jerry Colangelo will guide them in the right direction. “You know I care about the Sixers. It’s an unbelievable basketball city and I had a great experience there. I don’t want to get on them when they’re struggling, but they don’t have any veteran leadership. I want to help. I could straighten it out in five minutes. I wish they’d get Allen involved. All those young kids worship him.”

Despite the fact that I agree he could help and maybe they could give Iverson a role... he is still a snake for always trying to interview for a job when he already has one. I despise Larry from the deepest regions of my inner being.

speaking of things that would rile up, Fats, I finally remembered to drop off this link for a podcast with Kendall Gill since Fats recently mentioned Gill not being content about being the third option when listing the best Charlotte teams ever:
http://inallairness.com/air042-kendall-gill-illinois-great-all-american-nba-star-podcast/

the Hornets talk starts at about the 14th or 15th minute. two things that sound a bit iffy:

1) Gill openly admitting that he didn't expect Charlotte to draft him and that he knew little about them;
2) him revealing that he tells MJ and Pippen to this day that Charlotte could have beaten the Bulls if they stayed together. he says he would have liked to stay with that core seven, eight years. (yet was reportedly unhappy here and thus was traded)

probably a bit of revisionist history by Gill.

great work by my podcasting parter in crime Adam Ryan, on the other hand. He's the best in the NBA history genre.

Interesting... Yeah, I am sure Gill doesn't want to get into all the crap he did back then to try and get traded. Bonnell goes into this in his book about the 92-93 season.

Nets pick + Smart is a good start that puts Boston in the lead imo. What can the Bulls or Heat offer?

hey.. who knows, maybe I shouldn't be so cynical about it and he truly acknowledges deep inside that he should have been more patient back then.

but he certainly is one who oozes self-confidence, at least during that podcast, so you start to wonder whether that really is the case.

why I found that 1) point interesting is that, perhaps, he never really wanted to play in Charlotte to begin with.

In that article it suggests Miami could package Whiteside and Winslow for Cousins. Can you imagine that Kings lineup? Rondo, Winslow, Gay, Cauley-Stein, Whiteside. Every team would just stick 5 guys in the paint and let them jack up all the jumpers they wanted, but they might also hold teams to 80 points every night.

FWIW, I had a dream last night we traded Cody, Frank, MKG and two 1st round picks to the Cavs for Lebron. I guess the Cavs were worried he was going to leave.

How far do we get with this lineup? Kemba, Batum, Lebron, Marvin, Jefferson/Hawes? with Lin and Lamb off the bench? It would be fun watching Batum, Lebron and Marvin switch on defense.

How far do the cavs get with their new lineup? Kyrie, Shumpert, MKG, Love, Tristan/Movgov/Cody with Frank off the bench?

would be the best two teams in the east.

I think Cleveland would win a series, they have a large frontcourt advantage.

Kings shoulda taken the Lakers offer if they are considering trading him.

Could've had Okafor (or Porz, but I don't think teams were that high on him then) to immediately replace him

I remember when New Jersey started having some success after Gill left, Gill made a comment about how contributed to Jersey's success and one the Jersey players responded with "yeah, by leaving". So I think their might be a history with Gill and his ego

Something I forgot to post here initially after the game occurred - Hendo made 4 out of 5 threes his last game and they all looked like no-brainers, which is unusual for Henderson. Three catch-and-shoot ones from corners and one on the move after a hand-off.

He's currently taking 4.5 per 36 (twice as much than in any season for us) and making 45.5% of them. Obviously, that number will drop but it will be interesting to see whether he can make such a rate of them at, let's say, at least a 35% clip.

Hendo's had random streaks of making threes before but the amount which he has taken is the different thing about this season.

just knew he would do something like this, and I gotta admit, it makes me hate him a little.
