I don't think its possible for me to dislike someone as a coach more than Clifford at this point...

In the short term this is annoying and stupid. But what’s gonna happen going forward, like next season? Richards seems the perfect backup to Williams so what happens with Kai if he is a center only? They’ve got to find minutes for all three going forward don't they? Really whacky

I think we're trying to see if we have anything with Kai. We are facing a roster crunch this summer, a consolidation trade probably has to happen. Hopefully Kai will show us something and at the very least increase his trade value.

Kai Jones makes 3 million this year, we have until Oct 31st to decide on his 4th yr option of 4.7 million.

Summerleague will really be the last we see of him before having to decide whether to pick it up. Could turn into an expiring contract if we turn it down.

Richards looked like a total lost cause until inexplicably becoming solid last season. I'm not banking on that with Kai, but it's not unprecedented.

I really do not want to see us give up on Kai. He never should’ve been a first round project but the size and athleticism combo he has is just insane. If he can just develop his smarts on the floor a bit more, I can see a big jump. If he can continue to develop a somewhat acceptable three point shot then that gives us flexibility to play him as a stretch 4, but he’s really
more of center as of now

Teams with Trade Exceptions that can accept Kai Jones without hornets having to take back salary.
Kai makes 3 million this year. If we trade him into TE, we take no money back and open roster spot which is probably ideal.
The acquiring team would have until Oct. 31st to decide to guarantee his contract in the 4th year, so could be an expiring and cheap look.
