i'd take **** bradley beal before I took Jalen Green tbh

[edit: i meant, i want neither. Green is probably a bottom 5 contract in the NBA, while Beal is the worst]

No for me. And even more for Beal.

I would look at Houston for Eason now. I find it hard to believe they can play both KD and Eason at same time (and they still have a good depth at the wing despite this trade).
Not saying Hornets should propose a 1st but i would gladly check what they want for him. Just for flexibility purpose (KD salary...), the early 2nd's could be a pretty good asset to use.

That's hilariously bad trade for suns.

How is Beal booker green any better?

So dumb.

I don’t think it’s all that bad, 10th overall might be a starter, Dillon Brooks is a starter and Jalen Green is still a pretty good nba player even if the fit isn’t great.

If they flip Jalen Green for another first and player then I probably like it even more.

watching this now. wass has some thoughts on ace rumors - good/bad. worth a listen.

I'm all aboard the Tre bandwagon if VJ's not there so I might be biased...but it's crazy they brought up Tyler Herro in comparison to Tre.

Tre is a much better player/prospect than Herro was in college. Herro may have been a little better on defense but in terms of scoring and overall impact, it doesn't even seem close imo. Herro was a good athlete that could really shoot. Tre as a shooter is on another level than even Herro. Not saying he's going be as good of a pro but as a prospect, it's just a bad comparison.

In any case, I do like VJ better than Tre and it's looking more likely that he'll be there. Drafting either one of them will be a good night imo.

Green is 23, I feel like the team that takes a chance on him will get rewarded. He does have flashes of brilliance.

I will say, the more I think about it the more and more sour I get about the trade back idea. I mean if you do that you better be absolutely sure you can still get “your guy” wherever you fall back to. I really am past caring who they pick, they just need to get it right. Going from 4 to 7 for a couple of future seconds just doesn’t make sense to me. This team does not need more picks, they have plenty of those.

They need to get the best possible basketball players into this team, whoever that is in their eyes. I refuse to buy the Kaspaas rumors. But man say they drop from 4 to 7, and Ace goes 4, Kon goes 5, and Tre goes 6 it just feels to me like there’s a huge drop in talent after that. They do not need to get cute.

McCollum + 23 gives Suns:

Elite vet offense from the backcourt:

McCollum - PG
Booker - SG

POA wing defenders:
Brooks
Dunn

Rim protection:
Richards

Vet depth:
Beal
G. Allen
O'Neal

Deep bench prospects:
10
23

Plus cap relief with McCollum's expiring deal.

Suns should definitely take a PG prospect at 10 - Demin? Jase?

What would it take to make those flashes more consistent? HOU's put a lot of defense and playmaking around him already.

Some themes I’m noticing on this here board -

Tiddy PTSD is real. Don’t understand the hate (but, but CLINGAN…EDEY)! Some true hard feelings over this, even embarrassment for the Hornets making the pick.

The consensus for “value” at #4 ends with Tre Johnson - no one else qualifies as a consensus, especially the Dukies not named Flagg.

The level of antipathy toward Knuepple and Maluach is bordering on malevolence, but, again, it’s a theme.

Terrifying potential pick - Ace Bailey and Jeremiah Fears

There’s real value in the 21-27 range. Let’s try to trade back into the first round for Sorber or one of those other big guys.

Confidence in the Hornets to be competent in this draft is very low. See #1 above.

Despite the hand-wringing, there seems to be genuine excitement toward the legit potential down to 15, with some intriguing talent lower down even into the second round.

Most understandably, and maybe even an accurate reflection of the anguish fans feel toward the Charlotte Hornets, there’s a real morbid expectation that Charlotte will find a way to lose this draft.

This is what's bugging me about taking Kon also.

Like if this was last year in a crap draft and we took Kon, I wouldn't bat an eye. But this year there are like 3 or 4 potential allstar prospects within our range, yet you settle for a guy who has a 80% chance of just being Max Strus?
I'm not saying it's right but if you want to hear at least one draft experts opinions why some teams would have kon ranked ahead of tre, then watch that Jonathan Wasserman interview I posted last night and just go to the sections and watch the tre and kon sections. Now he may be wrong but he at least provides Intel from teams that he's hearing as to why they like or dislike those prospects plus he's been scouting these guys on his own since they were in high school. And he's coming from someone who is neutral on kon. Not one of the people that has him ranked third or fourth he said it makes sense for him anywhere 5 to 10 but he has Tre ranked 11.

Genuinely thanks for the share.

I just find the argument of "Kon processes the game so well" so eye rolling. The speed and processing level needed at an NBA level iz astronomically different then the NCAA.

There have been so many guys over the years that were touted as great readers and connectors as prospect, only to be turnover machines and not be trusted to dribble the ball more than 2 times in a possession in the big leagues.

Kon's playmaking ability looked simply adequate at Duke and I highly doubt it will be a strength for him in the NBA
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

probably the most stressful draft process for me over the past decade. after last years draft the fear of screwing up again and setting this franchise in the just the utter perminant most embarrassing team in the league is real.

I think Eason comes off the bench as good 3/4 depth.

Fred, Reed
Thompson, Holiday?
Durant, Whitmore, Tate??
Smith, Eason, Green?
Sengun, Adams

that team is long and perfect to minimise Sengun's defensive issues.

Apart from some decisions on the question marks, there big moves might be done. Maybe a little tinkering, but they are in a good position to try and win it all with Durant while maintaining plenty of youth.

I dunno if that was Grants “energy or culture” or the fact that Tidjane immediately became a 30+ mpg starter in the stretch after that injury and our already extremely poor front court depth got completely exposed

Again, this is our once a year single only chance to actually add cost effective talent and real potential to this stale roster and people are over here prioritizing lunch pail intangibles you can get. Like LaMelo and Miles are gonna give a **** about whatever Kon Kneuppel has to say about anything

I was just giving Grant his due for what he brought, I do not think kon could do the same. I agree ball and miles wouldn't give 2 **** about him
