"Even more impressive, perhaps, has been the seamlessness with which Kidd-Gilchrist’s rim-attacking instincts have carried over to the N.B.A.; he’s already racked up 14 offensive rebounds (the same number as LeBron James and Brandon Bass), and has taken an astounding 79 percent of his shots from within 5 feet of the rim, according to stats provided by NBA.com.

Not yet known as a reliable jump shooter, Kidd-Gilchrist seems more than willing to stay in his offensive lane, as evidenced by his avoidance of mid-range shots (he’s taken exactly two from 5 to 14 feet) in lieu of quick hits off of cuts, put-backs, and free throws, the last of which he is shooting at the second-highest clip (4.2 per game) among rookies."

MKG (+48.6 per 100 possessions) = MVP

Its a shame that Gilchrist isn't on the all-star ballot. I could easily see him receiving some votes if he keeps it up.

If he's good enough the coaches will vote him in.

What a beast.

MKG for All-Star! Let's start a petition

Unless he is injured he will be prominent Allstar weekend either way. He is pretty much a lock for the Rookie/Sophmore game as is Kemba.

MJ handing the basketball decisions to Cho was a great move. The guy has a plan.

MKG was likely drafted as a second/third option who could be a first option when needed, so it's no surprise they bring in a coach who plays to the team's strength - youth.

Good article on how well MKG has done so far this year. According to advanced stats were 25.3 points better when he's on the floor compared to when he's not. NO is 1 point worse with Anthony Davis on the floor. PDX is 8 points better with Lillard.

MKG was drafted to be a difference maker and help change the culture of the Bobcats. I'm obliged to say that that is exactly what he is doing. The scary part about it (for other teams) is that he has so much room to improve.

Great read. Some truly amazing stats in that article. Granted those will eventually come down, but there's almost zero doubt in my mind he'll be the best player in our franchise's history within a couple years and later so much more.

Foul trouble is 3 PFs???

How bad is his back, just a strain, chronic? I haven't seen anything on an injury...
