BTW, I wouldn't trade Zeller + #24 + #45 for Afflalo. I wouldn't want Afflalo on the Hornets unless it meant in exchange for Henderson

Therefore, Henderson + #24 + #45 for Afflalo, I would do

bulls trying to land afflalo. magic trying to trade him.

24 + hendo, lets do this cho.

Cho seems like a salary cap wiz more than anything, I doubt he'd give up much for Afflalo.

As long as Henderson goes out I am willing to move 24 to get it done. This means we badly need to draft a SG though as AA could just be here for one season.

I really don't see where Orlando would find value in Henderson + 24. Afflalo is no all-star but he is a quality player. My question is this; do teams try to get the deal done by draft night, and if not, where does the leverage then swing? We know the Hornets want an impact player in free agency. If their #1 target is Lance, I could still see them trying to deal for Afflalo up to draft night. Results would have some influence on their pick and FA strategy.

Any chance we could get into the Klay Thompson deal for our 9th?

maybe

CHA gets: Thompson

MIN gets: 9th pick + Lee + 2 future GS picks

GS gets: Love

I like it but at the same time Klay is about to get paid. If we do this I would not be the least bit mad though. I think if something could be swung around Barnes and 13 for 9 I would like that more. Would miss Klay but get a decent young wing and still can take a flier on someone like LaVine.

Obvious question with an obvious answer:
If LAC calls with the offer of 45+ Neal for Dudley, do you take it?

I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Dudley is exactly the type of player we need.

The silver lining in the Bulls pursuit of Afflalo is it shrinks Lance's market by one team. Lance is a better all around player than Afflalo and younger and won't cost the ridiculous amount the Magic are asking. I'm now thinking they want the Bulls to give them 16 AND 19, not one of those picks. And Afflalo will opt out so it's 1 year of Afflalo for that ridiculous price. The Magic should try to get Taj Gibson, offering Afflalo and taking back extra salary along with Gibson. It depends on how serious the Bulls are about Melo. I guess they're serious enough to not tie up money in Lance and figure Afflalo improves them even if they strike out on Melo.

Anyways, I'm happy if we pass on Afflalo and focus on Lance. We'd still have to draft Stauskas just in case we can't get Lance here. We've been spurned before and we need to replace Hendo. You're not doing that at 24. Hairston is a pipe dream there.

How far could we move up in the draft with Henderson and 24th? Would Phoenix be interested at 18?

They need some veterans and size at the guard position off the bench. Plus they need to pay someone this offseason.

Why for us?

It gets a bit higher where guys like Warren, Young, Payne, and Hood may still be around.

Doubt we can move up past OKC at 21 to be honest. I think Atlanta could be interested at 15 if we had more to offer. They'd probably want Zeller. I'd probably agree to a 15 for Hendo+Zeller+24 deal.

I'd be a very happy man if we managed to walk out of the draft with Doug and Zach on draft day.

I'd like that deal. But the trades I would really love include;

Zeller to Orlando for their 12th pick. With that pick we take Payne. He is already a better player than Cody with far more up side. I think he would be the steal of the draft. They want a PF, and maybe getting a guy with 1 year under his belt is preferred to a rookie.

Payne is overrated. Don't want him. He's nothing more than a career backup with his lungs and health issues that may peak at having a few good games against bigs that don't want to defend him out to the perimeter. Make Payne put the ball on the floor or become a passer and he's a lost cause with no post moves or anything.

So would you trade the #9 in a deal for Klay Thompson?

With the exception of James Harden, I can't think of a better two-guard to solve our problems. 9 for Thompson all day, ask nicely and you'll get Zeller and Hendo as we'll.

In a heartbeat! But we would have to add more, and depending on what/who that is, it could be too costly. But I'd take Thompson over a FA Lance Stephenson all day long, and I like Lance.

I'm disappointed to see BKN-CLE discussing a Marcus Thornton-Jarrett Jack trade.
I was hoping we could trade Hendo to CLE for Jack.

Do Marcus Thornton have more value on the trade market than Gerald Henderson? I think so

He expires and shoots threes, so probably.
