Practice with a fully cooked egg, that's good advice. Thanks coolio, I'll probably be bugging you about stuff from time to time now.

As for Trueblood, the episode was ruined for me when that clingy vampire girl said something about how people say plasmas are so thin and light. How could they let that get through? Plasmas are heavy as all hell. Regeneration or not, if a vampire was hit with a plasma, it would stay dead. Maybe since it's a girl vampire, she doesn't understand these things.........

Unless I heard her incorrectly, she said she was hit over the head with a 52" plasma.

So of course the first thing that popped in my head was that there aren't any 52" plasmas. That's a staple LCD size.

Saw the most recent True Blood tonight. I don't mind Maryanne (It's cool seeing the actor being a lot different than Helen Cain from BSG), but I agree they've been dragging it for a bit. Maybe it's because there's not the whodunit aspect from last season?

Chabber, that's crazy man. :D

Did you guys know Eric the vampire is Meekus from Zoolander? "Uh earth to Brint, I'm not so sure you did cuz you were all 'well I'm sure he's heard of styling gel' like you *didn’t* know it was a joke!"

I didn't go :( :( :(

I just got a new job at a school and the school year just started, so obviously I can't take a day off the first week of school.....

If I were Donovan walking into that storm of cups/vomit/blood/urine I would flatly refuse to take the corner until security had control of the crowd. Of course the ref would probably just card him for time-wasting. Not to mention grabbing an injured player while he's down and trying to make him get up. I always thought my hatred of the Mexican national team would fade with living down here but it hasn't at all.

As for the line-up, we must have better than Ching. Altidore/Dempsey/Donovan/Cooper would all be preferable to me. Dolo was ok, I don't mind him if he's not needed in the air, and against Mexico he's not.

The situation with the trash being thrown on the field is ridiculous and would not be accepted in ANY other sport. But for some reason it's just accepted as part of the game. Can you imagine an NBA player taking free-throws gets hit with something thrown from the crowd, and when he complains to the ref, the ref says to just get on with it?

For those of you not familiar with what we are talking about, here is US player Landon Donovan about to take a corner kick on Weds vs. Mexico.

i'm still mad about the behavior of some of the mexican fans.... they threw cups filled with vomit and urine at our players. thats absurd. try throwing stuff at players in a premier league game and see how fast your butt gets thrown in jail. it annoys me that nobody from the US is willing to complain publicly about concacafs inability to control crowds in that region. and my god, can we get a ref who isnt scared **** during the game. its sad.

i'm not mad about the loss. we got outplayed. but man, it sucks to have to compete against the refs and projectiles as well.

its a shame ron artest isnt a soccer player. i would love to see him beat the **** out of a few of those mexican fans that were throwing crap.

i think donovan got the swine flu in miami before he came to mexico. dude gets the balls of steel award for playing 90 minutes in 80 degrees, in the smog, at 8000ft in the air.... with the swine flu.

Besides TWC, what are other options for Phone, Internet and TV? -- I am currently paying around $120 w/taxes and fees for all 3 services from TWC, fwiw.

The only other option for all 3 in a package is AT&T U-Verse. Otherwise you can get Dish or DirecTV. I don't know anyone who has U-Verse so I couldn't tell you if it was good or not. I only use my cell phone and don't have a land line so I save some money that way. But $120 for all 3 services is a pretty good deal. I pay $115 for TWC and Internet and I don't have any pay channels like HBO. But I do love my DVR and HD. One way you could save money is if you get a cheaper Internet plan.

Here is the LINK for U-Verse. Looks like they have some pretty good deals right now. Just don't know how good the quality is.

Man....... and I thought Everton were going to give things a good push this year. 1-6 against an understrength Arsenal...... Fabregas seems to have recovered very well from his injury...

I'd love to go the Satelite route, but I'm in an apartment complex right now and probably will be there for another 7-9 months and then planning on moving, and even though I know they move with you, I'll just get Satelite installed at my new place of residence once and for all. -- I've got the lowest internet plan w/o going the Cable "lite" route.

As far as HBO, Cinemax etc, there's a special TWC is offering for $5 month and it gives you all the Cinemax, Movie Channel and Showtime channels they have.

fatlever wrote:god, i must be getting raped by TWC. i pay a lot more than 120 for cable, internet and phone.

What do you have from them? -- I've got the cable with HD channels and DVR, local/nationwide long distance phone, and 7 mbps Road Runner for internet; ~$120.

When I was in South Florida, Comcast (the local cable provider down there) used to offer a very similar package of services for $99-$106, which is why I said let me ask you guys.....

I want to see it, it does look awesome. I like the notion of aliens of limited power... that in fact they wouldn't just automatically dominate a much more populous species. Also that the humans abuse them is about as realistic as you can get.

I have a lot of faith in Peter Jackson to pull off a "vision" after LotR as well.
