unless Kemba turns into Mark Price, a Kemba/Hendo/MKG will not fly on the perimeter

Wait til after this season to make those claims. I guarantee Kemba's shooting percentages will skyrocket.

i had to cut that interview off halfway through. its makes me uncomfortable to watch. bobcats need to be careful with how they handle him. shield him from media for a while and get him a speech pathologist.

not if we play that slow paced, turtle offense silas ran last year. this team MUST get out and run and get easy baskets in transition. we should model the sixers for how they play. aggressive defense, force turnovers and push the ball relentlessly on offense, even if that results in high turnovers. it will be up to biz, mully, hyphen and tyrus to clean the glass to get the break started.

once games get to 4th quarter and slow down a little, gordon can do his thing.

Bassman wrote:Van Gundy says hyphen is no star, but certainly a rotation player. That's high praise

Enjoy our energy guy folks. He will give us thrills, chills, tough D, great energy, bad shots, 12 point games, and plenty of other opportunities in the lottery.

While I'm not quite as down on him as you are Bass, I too am disappointed with this selection. MKG is a good kid who hustles, slashes and plays tough defense. His offense is limited to slashing, second chance points and fast break opportunities. He has no jump shot and cannot create his own offense.

In short, I liken him to a young Caron Butler sans a jump shot. If he vastly improves his jumper in coming years, he might someday become what Caron Butler was, which is to say a very good complemetary player.

What makes zero sense here is that if MKG was Cho's guy then fine...but execute the trade with Cleveland and take MKG at 4. There was no reason to burn the #2 on him when it was almost certain he would have been there to picks later and we could have picked up an additional pick in the process.

Who programmed Cho's computer? Dick Vitale? I can't believe we drafted the "winner" guy. SMH.

Meh, he'll be alright if his spirit isn't broken by mounting losses.

I am excited about the future with MKG. Also rooting for him as a person as he continues to improve with the speech impediment. It shouldn't be something worth mocking.

i am stoked about MKG. i have a good feeling. getting ben gordon helped, because it gives us a shooter to stretch the floor.

this will be a massive success IF we can find a #1 scoring option in the next 2 years (either by draft, trade or free agency). i know thats a big if, but we were never going to find a #1 option in this draft.

MKG is going to be a good defender. He is going to be one of our better rebounders. Offensively I am hoping Dunlap finds ways for him to score in the half court. He has a pretty decent post game after being a big during highschool. I think he will get to the line a ton and will get a bunch of garbage points. If he fixes his shot he will be the best player in this draft.

I think he will a decent isolation player too. His handles are better then most think and he uses his body really well in the paint. I think his will in itself will mean 5 more wins a season just because he wants it more then everyone and he will make winning plays.

I think he will become the heart and soul of this team.

MKG would be a perfect second fiddle to James Harden.

But wooing him in Free Agency is going to be difficult and I dont know about our ability to offer him a max deal now that we've added Gordon's 13 mil to the books next summer.

after his playoffs performance, Harden will want to have a bloody good year to be asking for the max.

I completely get what the Bobcats are trying to do here. They're trying to get that Miami attacking style of D to force turnovers, run and run some more, if done right..it's actually an exciting style. I just worry about the 4 spot..but I like the pick

From what I've read thats the type of defence that Dunlap likes to play as well.

at the 4 spot, we just have to hope that mully can make some big improvements this summer. in theory he is a great fit for our offense. he gives us size to pair with biz (legit 7-footer). he gives us a shooter who can space the floor. he gives kemba a pick and roll partner. just pray that dunlap can actually coach him on how to defend and rebound. if mully can get 25% on that side of the floor, he will be a decent stop-gap until we find a real starting big man.
