Going through the all-star category and I noticed how over the years there have been way more power forwards than players in any other position. Found it kind of strange, but when you go through those surnames there are a few of guys whose careers didn't pan out as hoped. The too early too soon generation, the ones whose careers got ruined by injuries, the "how the **** did he get selected for the allstar" game, the addicts, etc.

this was my thinking on the draft order.

i used the places that everyone signed up on the participant list (i.e i was #1). then i took those numbers and created a random number sequence. my number (#1), fell to the 4th spot in the sequence, so i pick 4th.

#4 was lamar, #12 was jmac etc...

Fats, I suppose that the ruling on the "Windy City" category is that basketball-reference has to display the player's birth place as "Chicago", right? Because there are guys like Bad Porn and Michael Finley that come from some place called Melrose Park, which is a suburb to Chicago.

correct. we will use bball-ref for all stat, height, city etc... verifications. what they have goes, no exceptions. so in this case, if the player isnt listed as "chicago" on bball-ref, it doesnt count.

for those new to the game, get familiar with the frivolities section of bball-ref as well as the player index section. you can create queries for many of these categories in the play index section that will give you an exact list of all the eligible players. if you do a search on google you should find a list of all the dead NBA players as well. if you are having trouble finding players eligible for a category send me a PM and i will try to help.

^Basketball-reference is pretty much the answer for all categories. Only think that bothers me a bit is that they don't have a "player career finder" alongside the one for seasons, streaks and games. Would make some things a bit easier.

Oh and another thought - we're doing this draft as of the summer of 2012, right? What I mean is that Ray Allen and Elton Brand will be on their fourth team next season, but since they haven't played a game for those particular squads we don't count them as "journeymen".

correct, they have to have played games for 4 teams, so those switching this summer would not count.

i have been using the player game finder link, then clicking the 3rd search button "cumulative multi season games"

fyi, i purposely set the "like gana" requirements just below shaq so that noboby could pick him using that category. shaq only shot below 0.46 ft once and in that season he didnt play enough games to qualify. :naaa:

Sorry Guys... but I am going to have to drop out of the scavenger hunt draft. I just do not have enough time right now.... I am working a ton, starting school back up and also fantasy football research is taking up much of my time.

Good luck to everyone and I will still gladly participate in the voting process as a unbiased judge. Shouldnt be too hard to find me a replacement. These categories are insane fats, good job two weeks earlier and I would of been so pumped, but its just too much work right now.

wow, I hadn't noticed this option before. Now it turns out that I missed some guys since I was going through every team and searching for players who had had poor shooting seasons. Thanks!
turns out that Manute Bol is a chucker

Does rookie year 76-77 qualify, or is it 77-78?

Unfortunately I have to drop out as well. Kids are starting Kindergarten and I don't have much time these days. Sorry guys.

Thank Goodness. Would've lost Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, Alex English, and Adrian Dantley among others.

Also, that B level after MJ is really weak with no Russel, Kareem, Wilt, Oscar, etc. Lamar is going to have a tough time losing this one
