gotta give the bbtb guys credit. this is a great idea and something sorely needed in this town.

I think they are great kids as long as they stay away from trying to say they have sources on trades and such. Thats annoying.

cats had a 33% increase in TV viewers this year, ranking 6th in improved viewership. (not that hard to believe considering we have been dead last the past 5 years, thanks to our god awful TV deals.

They have even more work to do as far as getting games available around the Carolinas. Hopefully they continue to work on it.

Would like to see them eventually get some games on local TV. WJZY or WCCB here in the Charlotte area would be nice but these channels are more focused on primetime shows.

i was really disappointed when i went to the beach last weekend, near wilmington, and could not see the bobcats games on tv. the house had about 300 channels, either comporium or comcast (i cant remember), but no bobcats.

In the latter part of Feb we moved about 10 miles closer to Charlotte. And the games are televised now on the same cable network that denied me access for the past 7 years. Go figure. Do not know if it was due to the move or due to some change in policy. But I am happy I was able to see the last month of games.

I just want to say that I moved to Laurinburg, NC like 8 years ago for work reasons. It's a small town like an hour east of Charlotte. I have Time Warner SC cable, the works, which just doesn't show Hornets games. I also have a full subscription to NBA League pass, but I live too close to Charlotte, so any games the Hornets play get blacked out automatically. I've been ready to pick up this team as a fan since I've moved here, but if they can't figure out how to deliver a game to me conveniently that's a problem.

Whenever you want to get your act together, Hornets, I'll be here.

If I am not mistaken, the satellite networks will broadcast Hornets game w/in 90 mile radius of Charlotte. Is that correct?

That being said, you shouldn't have to switch from cable to dish just to see game from your home team.

Directtv? Pass. I'll leave it to the Hornets to figure out as opposed to dealing with all that hassle again. Last time I used them they wanted me to pick up the local channels with an antenna. A couple channels were ok, but a couple were like maybe I can kind of get a signal?

Ballstreams is definitely something I want to look into this year, though.

I think the point is that I shouldn't have to buy these specific services to catch Hornets games when I can get games of other teams way easier.

My solution:

(1) Cut cable
(2) Get a Roku
(3) Subscribe to Netflix, Hulu Plus, and ballstreams
(4) Use a family member's ESPN login
(5) Get an antenna for OTA broadcast and a DVR to record them (solves the football problem)
(6) Profit

Heh, I do all the above save for Ballstreams. I'll add (7) Fox Sports Go App (FREE), then chromecast to tv. Requires cable login a la WatchESPN.

They go farther than that. I live well over 100 miles from Charlotte and I get all the games on dish network (I live slightly west of Asheville)

4th worst in the league in local TV ratings. Does this take into effect our **** TV deal or is it based on how many actual households have the ability to watch the games?

our average audience size is a pathetic 12,000

They should let us factor in the national and international streams, where we crush it with Lin fans.

so add up our game attendance and that local tv attendance and we get about 30k fans.

thats pretty awful, one of the top things on the to do list should be getting a tv deal.

no idea where i posted it, but the tv deal should include all of NC, at least half of SC and the virginia/tennessee border counties.

I was surprised to find out that Columbia now gets Hornets games. They didn't when I left Columbia about 18 months ago.

I wonder how streaming ties into all this. As I've lamented ad nauseum, I can't watch the games on tv but can get them via the spotty Fox Sports Go app.

Not that the Hornets are likely drawing a lot of viewers via these steams, though.
