sachmo, you turned over 75% of the roster. lol, what is the point of playing as bobcats in that case? why not just edit the teams to your liking in the roster management section prior to starting association?

so should i buy this game? last one i bought was 2k10 or 11 and i didnt love it. i never liked the shot stick. thought it was weird to have to shoot using the right stick rather than a button. thought you had to do way too much with the sliders to get the game playable. CPU got way too many steals and deflections. CPU had way too many offensive rebounds. had to drop sliders down to about 5 on those just to get the game enjoyable. and the my player feature was just silly.

BG is an animal in this game.

I can't miss from range with him even when I try to.

How can you not? We finally have some fun guys to play with.

Kemba, Heno, MKG, Biz, BG.

You dont have to use the shot stick. You can use the "X" button (which is what I use). Rebounding is still suspect IMO and it's damn hard to block shots this time (which is a good thing).

Running the P&R isn't as easy as it used to be either - which is also good IMO because they were just easy points.

I still haven't worked out snazzy dribble moves, but there seems to be a lot of them to explore.

Also, offensive post moves seem to be a little easier to execute - which is good because in 2K11 they were hard as hell.

In summary............get it or risk having your Bobcat SuperFan rank stripped.

perhaps i will rent from gamefly, give it a test drive and if i like it i will keep it. good thing about gamefly, if you like a game you can usually buy it for used prices.

or maybe i just go buy it. i am wrapping up saints row 3. other than that i have been giving fifa 2010 some run recently. i need to get the new fifa this year also. not many other good xbox games i am waiting to play right now... although i still need to go back and finish skyrim.

I like to play GM, its the challenge of winning trades. But yeah, I do get bored quickly and end up spending all my time playing the My Player mode.

I go straight into playing online which would explain my 1-12 record.

Unstoppable opponents that have gone ham on me so far:

Jrue Holiday
Manu Ginobili
Luol Deng
Brandon Bass
Taj Gibson
Ben Gordon

Also, myCareer (formerly called My Player) is SO addicting this year. I got drafted by the Celtics and even though my teammates play awesome, the opponents always have that one guy who drops like 35 and as a result we lose. I also have an incredibly hard time getting my game rating above a C+, which is a big adjustment from 2k12 in which I got an A+ in like my 4th or 5th game. They finally take your trade suggestions into account and we got MKG for Jeff Green and 1st.

have to admit that it's very hard to keep it realistic in Association, when 2K dangles some of these trades in front of you. Putting some of the wackier, easy-win trades aside, which of the following semi-realistic virtual trades that have been put in front of me by 2K would you guys say yes to in real life? Not that they make any sense for the other team, but...

Ben Gordon and Mullens for Andrew Bogut

Thabo Sefolosha and Perry Jones for Gerald Henderson

Brendan Haywood, Tyrus Thomas and a second rounder for Markieff Morris and Jermaine O'Neal

BTW, I'm a glorious 0-13 in first season of Association on All-Star. Can't believe I was able to play this game well on Hall of Fame in 2K11.

some thoughts from my first real 2K13 session... Playing on Superstar level and on simulation sliders.

It seemed impossible to stop the opponent. I had always been a very good defensive player the previous years, however Washington just dropped 124 on me with Jordan Crawford having a monster game - 42pts/10rebs/7asts. He seemed to knock down every jumpshot, even with a hand in his face. The most annoying part was getting ready to get a stop being down by 8 with 2:30 left and Crawford hitting two threes in a row and a two point jumpshot later on. Game over. I hope I'll get better with time, however the game CPU just played seemed unreal. Oh and the fact that it got about 6, 7 open breakaway dunks pissed me off. Their big just would make an outlet pass to some guard who was already at my end of the court, while none of my players were even close. Bastards were cherry picking.

The CPU also shot twice the free throws. Now, this might be because Ramon Sessions isn't really the guy to drive with to the basket, however it seemed like John Wall could just close his eyes, drive to the hole and get a whistle every time he wants. I'm used to switching over with my big guys and just keeping my hands up and either they got whistled for the foul anyway or some of my other players who were controlled by the CPU sneaked in a bare touch and got the foul. **** annoying. I meanwhile attempted only 12 free throws.

I'm surprised how fast I picked up the offense. Practice scrimmages and the first game were a struggle, however I picked it up and scored well over 100 against the Wizards. I'm still struggling with finding reliable plays though. I'd like to find some effective and easy ways to get player X a good shot besides driving to the hole/playing pick-n-roll and keeping to kick it out.

Is it just me or big guys get tired real fast? It seemed impossible to play a full game with two centers, Haywood would get exhausted (his stamina dropped to 50-60 in 4 minutes) so fast and I had to give Bismack and Gana Diop minutes at the 5. I do the subs myself and I was surprised to see that without any planning I got almost everything right. However, Tyrus Thomas played way more minutes than I wanted since centers got so tired all the damn time.

As for my Bobcats association. I'm thinking about playing about 15 games the first season, the ones against weaker teams, so I could get to know the game and win some games myself and simulate the rest. I won't sign no one so it would be a better tanking offer and I'll try to get a legit roster together during the off-season.

Part of me also doesn't want to do trades since they are so ridiculously lob-sided. Is is the same this year? I reckon you could trade MKG, Kemba and someone else with a 70+ overall + two draft picks for LeBron on the engines the previous games had.

Sessions, Hendo, MKG, Biz, Haywood, Walker, Gordon are basically my main seven rotation players with everybody playing between 20 and 30 minutes. Mully and Tyrus are to play about 15 (they played 20 last game though because of Haywood getting tired) and Reggie adds 10.

As for our guys:

I really loved to play with Hendo (29pts on 13/22 shooting last game) - most of the shots were from mid-range as I found plenty of good shot opportunities and he could nail them.
Mully also was someone I liked to have on the floor as he went for 17 points last game. I would just fire away with him from mid-range after pick-n-rolls or penetration with a PG.
I liked Kemba's abilities as well. He has great handles on the game and can really run the floor and get to the rack. Having him on the floor made scoring easier...
I couldn't hit a shot (only attempted a few though) with Sessions who seemed like less of a threat to the defense, however I dished out 15 assists with him last time. Not as fast as Kemba obviously, but a good guy to play point with.

I couldn't hit my stride with:
MKG. Since he isn't a good shooter, the CPU plays off him and it's hard to involve him in the offense. I've yet to find how to use him to the best of his abilities.
For some reason I couldn't score with Gordon. It seemed really weird since I loved playing with Hendo. He couldn't make his open looks.
Tyrus was absolutely useless. He played 21 minutes, scored 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. I couldn't find a way to make him useful, he seemed just to be this guy to fill out the power forward position. Dude gets met by an opposing big every time I try to score in the paint. And I'm totally okay with this, it will be another reason for me to dislike him

if you want to include MKG in your game...if you have a play breaking down and low shot clock just run the quick play MKG cutting to the basket hes a monster in the paint under the hoop he can go up strong straight up against even centers. its kinda cheesy but it works for me

OJ Mayo is easily the most unstoppable bum in this game

I can't make a damn shot in My player anymore. My percentages are worse than Kemba's. Much worse. My Celtics are 9-17 and that's with tradoing Jeff Green and a 1st for MKG and then trading Courtney Lee and Sullinger for Tyson Chandler.

Oh yeah and the Jennings/Ellis duo is completely unstoppable as is Rose/Robinson.

ok, i bought this game today on my lunch. will probably give it a spin tonight after the USA vs Antigua WCQ game.

i really hope its better than previous versions. i suspect i will have to tinker around with the sliders for a while to find a game that is enjoyable, yet realistic.

oh, and i suck.

I hate in my player how play next key game is on the top of the menu and when you accidently press it, it doesn't come up with a "are you sure" but just goes ahead and simulates a ton of games.
