Hell no. Amare has one of the worst contracts in the NBA right now. 22 mil does not fit his output. I know we're not giving up much, but this would almost set us back.

We are set to have a lot of cap space next summer. People said we weren't signing anyone this summer, yet we still signed arguably the third best FA.

Wut?

I don't think Charlotte would be interested in one extremely overpaid PF that can't play defense after they already signed a moderately less overpaid C that can't play defense in Al Jefferson. STAT and Big Al in the same lineup, you might as well put those runway lights for planes down the lane.

People are forgetting that we can use our cap for more than FA signings, I have a feeling just as meany teams will be tanking for Okafor in 2015 so we could pick up some pieces through salary dumps etc next offseason.

We made a great trade last year to get McBob, then sign him to a reasonable deal this offseason. Outside of something similar, I don't see us doing anything before the trade deadline...UNLESS it would be a S&T with Hendo, and that is extremely remote.

Our greatest need is a quality SG who can shoot, score and be a go-to guy for points when needed. Everybody wants that guy! Taylor will likely never be that player, although he is showing promise as a key contributor. Hendo is a servicable starter but has (in my opinion) hit his ceiling.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

KD not happy about the Thunderchunks losing Martin and missing out on Miller.

You can't tell me they wouldn't love BG? He would fill that role oh so well.

Who needs Perk? Can't we arrange a three way where Perk goes some where, BG goes there and we get Lamb?

Dallas would need a large incentive to take back perks deal

He only has two season left on his deal - and they don't have a starting C on their roster at the moment. I would think that's not bad incentive?

Maybe the Thunder can throw them a 1st round pick?

The Mavs signed Samuel Dalembert. Dalembert is currently better than Kendrick Perkins. The only way I can see that trade being pulled off is if the Thunder & Bobcats gave the Mavs 1st rounders, of course Charlotte bartering the Portland pick they own

Would Charlotte consider this?

Post#76 » by snowman » Tue Jul 30, 2013 11:01 pm

Bos / Char small trade
by snowman on Tue Jul 30, 2013 6:56 pm

Successful Trade Scenario
Congratulations on a successful trade.
Trade ID
Trade ID #6327509

Keith Bogans
33 year old , 6-5, 215 lb G-F from Kentucky
4.2 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 1.0 apg in 19.0 minutes
3 million cash to cover difference in contracts

for

Brendan Haywood
33 year old , 7-0, 263 lb C from North Carolina
3.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.1 minutes in 2012-2013

Why for Charlotte:
Charlotte has many big men, so losing Haywood would not hurt them. Bogans had to be put on a three yr contract because he was a sign and trade with the Nets in the Pierce deal. The last two years are not gaurrented. Boston kicks in 3 mil to cover difference in first year. Charlotte saves 2 mil by not having to pay Haywood's second year.

Why for Boston:
Boston gets someone that can play the 5, and saves 3 mil in cap space THIS season, which keeps them from being a repeater in salary tax range.

I wouldn't consider this if I were the Bobcats. It simple, Haywood's contract is much better than Bogans' and there's no point in trading away depth in the frontcourt. This would be a lateral move at best, I don't really see the benefit

No. We'll eventually need Haywood as a 5th big at end of our rotation whether because of injuries or foul trouble but we'll have no need for Bogans in our logjammed backcourt.
