Not 100% true. It will be true soon ... as in next month when the official free agent signing period starts. That's when contracts change and the new cap will be set. As of right now we are operating under last year's cap and contract numbers. What the Magic did was open up cap space RIGHT NOW not cap space that will be there soon. This enables them to make more trades tonight with just unassigned picks ... not trades that will have to wait until well after the draft to become official. It's smart from a timing perspective. I still think that they could have gotten more value if they had waited just a bit longer though.

I tried, couldn't enhance it enough to make heads or tails.

It looks like our picks at the top, probably separated between 9th pick, 24th and 45th. Looks like 3 guys in play for the 9th, 6 for the 24th and 45th respectively.

Payton has moved ahead of Smart on King's board according to Chad Ford. It is possible that Smart slips to us. I would be happy to take Smart, a shooter at #24 and resign McBob.

So draft picks are locked in until draft time. No trading of "picks" until the start of the draft.

Smart would be fantastic. He looked completely in place in the Team USA camp last season. And I'm confident his shot can be improved, guys a beast.

Talent.... we need talent.

If any one of the top 8 drop to us - Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Exum, Vonleh, Randle, Smart, or Gordon, you take him and don't ask any questions. You worry about the shooting later, because we still need talent.

So if Smart drops, you take him and pair him with Kemba. If Randle or Vonleh or Gordon drops, you pair him with Al up front. If Exum drops, you take him. I really hope we DON'T take Stauskas tonight, simply because one of these top 8 guys fell.
